Homoarginine in Patients With Primary Hyperparathyroidism
Andreas Tomaschitz,Andreas Tomaschitz,Nicolas Verheyen,Martin Gaksch,Andreas Meinitzer,Burkert Pieske,Burkert Pieske,Elisabeth Kraigher-Krainer,Caterina Colantonio,Winfried März,Winfried März,Winfried März,Albrecht Schmidt,Evgeny Belyavskiy,Jutta Rus-Machan,Adriana J. van Ballegooijen,Claudia Stiegler,Karin Amrein,Eberhard Ritz,Fahrleitner-Pammer A,Fahrleitner-Pammer A,Stefan Pilz,Stefan Pilz +22 more
TL;DR: Patients with PHPT have lower homoarginine levels compared with matched controls irrespective of age, sex, kidney function and 25(OH)D status, and further studies are needed to evaluate whether low homo arginine accounts for higher cardiovascular risk conferred by PTH excess.
Journal ArticleDOI
Angeborene Störungen im Lipoproteinstoffwechsel
TL;DR: Congenital disorders of lipid metabolism are caused by a wide range of variants of the genes for receptors, apolipoproteins, enzymes, transfer factors, and cellular cholesterol transporters.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genome-wide studies reveal factors associated with circulating uromodulin and its relationships to complex diseases
Yong Li,Yurong Cheng,Francesco Consolato,Guglielmo Schiano,Michael Chong,Maik Pietzner,N. Q. Nguyen,Nora Scherer,Mary L. Biggs,Marcus E. Kleber,S. TL;DR: This study performs genome-wide screens of circulating uromodulin using complementary antibody-based and aptamer-based assays to gain insights into circulating urmodulin and its emerging functions.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: The findings suggest that the inverse association of birthweight with hypertension risk from observational studies was not supported by large Mendelian randomization analyses.
Journal ArticleDOI
Apolipoprotein CIII predicts cardiovascular events in patients with coronary artery disease: a prospective observational study.
Julius L. Katzmann,Christian Werner,Tatjana Stojakovic,Winfried März,Winfried März,Winfried März,Hubert Scharnagl,Ulrich Laufs +7 more
TL;DR: ApoCIII concentrations in chylomicron-free serum are independently associated with event-free survival in patients with CAD both in fasting and postprandial state and support considering apoCIII for risk assessment and attempting to test the hypothesis that lowering apolipoprotein CIII reduces residual cardiovascular risk.
