Journal ArticleDOI
Phosphorylation of BLM, Dissociation from Topoisomerase IIIα, and Colocalization with γ-H2AX after Topoisomerase I-Induced Replication Damage
V. Ashutosh Rao,Angela M. Fan,Linghua Meng,Christopher F. Doe,Phillip S North,Ian D. Hickson,Yves Pommier +6 more
TL;DR: A defect in γ-H2AX signaling in response to unrepaired replication-mediated double-strand breaks might, at least in part, explain the camptothecin-sensitivity of BLM-deficient cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structure of the catalytic domain of avian sarcoma virus integrase with a bound HIV-1 integrase-targeted inhibitor.
Jacek Lubkowski,Fan Yang,Jerry Alexandratos,Alexander Wlodawer,He Zhao,Terrence R. Burke,Nouri Neamati,Yves Pommier,George Merkel,Anna Marie Skalka +9 more
TL;DR: The x-ray structures of an inhibitor complex of the catalytic core domain of avian sarcoma virus integrase (ASV IN) were solved and identified the structural elements of the inhibitor that likely determine its binding properties.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cell death induced by topoisomerase inhibitors. Role of calcium in mammalian cells.
TL;DR: The results suggest that topoisomerase II-mediated DNA breaks are only potentially lethal and that calcium-dependent cellular processes are required for the cytotoxicity of topoisomersase inhibitors.
Journal ArticleDOI
TDP2 promotes repair of topoisomerase I-mediated DNA damage in the absence of TDP1
Zhihong Zeng,Abhishek Sharma,Limei Ju,Junko Murai,Lieve Umans,Liesbeth Vermeire,Yves Pommier,Shunichi Takeda,Danny Huylebroeck,Keith W. Caldecott,Sherif F. El-Khamisy,Sherif F. El-Khamisy +11 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that Tdp1 and Tdp2 fulfil overlapping roles following Top1-induced DNA damage, but not following Top2-inducedDNA damage, in vivo.
Journal ArticleDOI
Drug specific resistance to oxaliplatin is associated with apoptosis defect in a cellular model of colon carcinoma.
Isabelle Gourdier,Maguy Del Rio,Laure Crabbe,Laurent Candeil,Virginie Copois,Marc Ychou,Charles Auffray,Pierre Martineau,Nadir Mechti,Yves Pommier,Bernard Pau +10 more
TL;DR: Findings suggest that altered mitochondrial‐mediated apoptosis could play a role in oxaliplatin resistance.
