TL;DR: In this article, a low VOC curable water-based coating composition is provided, which includes a urethane/acrylic copolymer having a Tg of greater than about 50°C, a polyoxyethylene aryl ether plasticizer, an alkaline-stable crosslinker, and water.
Abstract: A low VOC curable water-based coating composition is provided. The composition includes a urethane/acrylic copolymer having a Tg of greater than about 50° C., a polyoxyethylene aryl ether plasticizer, an alkaline-stable crosslinker, and water, wherein the curable water-based coating composition includes less than about 5 wt-% volatile organic compounds, based on the total weight of the composition.

TL;DR: In this article, a method of facilitating electronic presentations using portable storage media is presented, where an array of images to be displayed to an audience is converted into a database and stored on the presenter's computer hard drive.
Abstract: A method of facilitating electronic presentations using portable storage media. An array of images to be displayed to an audience is converted into a database and stored on the presenter's computer hard drive. A copy of the image database is transferred to a portable storage medium, such as a personal computer (PC) card, which is then inserted into a display device such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel equipped to accept a PC card. When the presenter selects which image is to be displayed to the audience, the selection is communicated to the LCD panel which displays the corresponding image in the database copy on the PC card for viewing by the audience. The present invention also includes a system for giving electronic presentations.

TL;DR: Combinations of medical adhesive composites, e.g., dressings, and a package in which the medical adhesive composite composites are attached to a release surface on the bottom sheet of the package are disclosed in this paper.
Abstract: Combinations of medical adhesive composites, e.g., dressings, and a package in which the medical adhesive composites are attached to a release surface on the bottom sheet of the package are disclosed. The dressings may include a flexible backing and carrier. Methods of manufacturing and using the combination are also disclosed.

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the degree of shielding of methoxyl protons is dependent not only upon the presence of styrene units as nearest neighbors along the chain but also upon their stereochemical configuration with respect to the methyl methacrylate units.
Abstract: The NMR spectra of methyl methacrylate–styrene and methyl methacrylate–α-methylstyrene copolymers exhibit, among other features of interest, an unexpected multiplicity in the 6.4–7.8 τ region, characteristic of methoxyl protons. This multiplicity is believed due to magnetic shielding by styrene units. By comparing the results of a statistical analysis of monomer sequence probabilities with the relative areas of the methoxyl peaks, it is shown that the degree of shielding of the methoxyl protons is dependent not only upon the presence of styrene units as nearest neighbors along the chain but also upon their stereochemical configuration with respect to the methyl methacrylate units. By means of reasonable assumptions it is possible to explain the copolymer spectra and to give a partial description of the stereochemical configuration of the methyl methacrylate–styrene copolymers. The NMR method should be valuable in the analysis of other copolymers, particularly block and graft copolymers.

TL;DR: Gasketing material is produced by combining a tubular casing of braided or woven from continuous inorganic filaments, such as alumina-boria-silica fibers, with a core composition comprising a major proportions of intumescent material, suitably unexpanded vermiculite.
Abstract: Gasketing material is produced by combining a tubular casing of braided or woven from continuous inorganic filaments, such as alumina-boria-silica fibers, with a core composition comprising a major proportions of intumescent material, suitably unexpanded vermiculite. Heating the gasket in situ results in expansion to give a resilient gasket stable to temperatures of about 1000° to 1200° C.
