TL;DR: In this paper, a method for forming a filter of electrically charged electret fiber material, consisting of a high molecular weight, nonpolar polymeric substance, comprising drawing, charging, and fibrillating a foil of the material, was presented.
Abstract: A method for forming a filter of electrically charged electret fiber material, consisting of a high molecular weight, nonpolar polymeric substance, comprising drawing, charging, and fibrillating a foil of said high molecular weight substance. The fibrillated foil is wound and then crimping is effected.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for preparing a polymer-dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) device in general is also disclosed, which displays a variable grey scale which has a uniform optical transmission.
Abstract: A polymer-dispersed liquid crystal device comprises a multiplicity of droplets of a birefringent, functionally nematic liquid crystal material dispersed in a matrix comprising the reaction product of ultraviolet radiation polymerizable materials. The device specularly transmits incident light as a function of the magnitude of an electric field applied across the device. The difference between a first applied voltage corresponding to a first percentage of the total incident light transmitted by the device as specular light and a second applied voltage corresponding to a second percentage of the total incident light transmitted by the device as specular light is greater than or equal to 15 volts. As a result, a polymer-dispersed liquid crystal device according to the invention displays a variable grey scale which has a uniform optical transmission. A method for preparing a PDLC device in general is also disclosed.

TL;DR: In this article, a flat, inelastic, dimensionally stable sheet material is formed by stretching parallel elastomeric strands to several times their relaxed length and then bonding them to one or more flat, elastic webs with a thermoplastic polymer.
Abstract: Flat, inelastic, dimensionally stable sheet material is formed by stretching parallel elastomeric strands to several times their relaxed length and then bonding them to one or more flat, inelastic webs with inelastic thermoplastic polymer. When the sheet material is heated, the strands contract and the sheet material shirrs. Strips of the flat sheet material can be incorporated in disposable diapers and subsequently shirred to provide elastic waistbands or leg openings.

TL;DR: In this article, an improved inflatable cushion of the type comprising two films of a thermoplastic fused together to provide a plurality of inflatable chambers between the films, with each chamber communicating with a central inlet opening through an inlet passageway.
Abstract: A system providing an improved inflatable cushion of the type comprising two films of a thermoplastic fused together to provide a plurality of inflatable chambers between the films, with each chamber communicating with a central inlet opening through an inlet passageway; and an improved device for filling and sealing such a cushion. The inlet opening for the cushion extends through only one of the films, and the device has a nozzle which directs air into the opening against the portion of the other film which extends across the opening, so that the air will be evenly deflected through the inlet passageways to simultaneously inflate all the chambers in the cushion.

TL;DR: A radiation curable release coating composition comprising of about 1 to about 50 percent by weight of a cationically reactive polydiorganosiloxane liquid rubber having formula (I) was proposed in this paper.
Abstract: The invention provides a radiation curable release coating composition comprising: (a) about 1 to about 50 percent by weight of a cationically reactive polydiorganosiloxane liquid rubber having formula (I) wherein R are monovalent moieties which can be the same or different selected from the group consisting of alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl, and substituted aryl wherein at least about 50 % of the total number of silicon atoms have two methyl groups bonded thereto; E is an organic monovalent functional group comprising from about 1 to about 20 carbon atoms having at least one cationically co-reactive functional group; a and b both represent integers, wherein the sum of a plus b is an integer of about 10 to about 1200; b has a value ranging from about 0 to about 02a; a is an integer of about 10 to about 1000; and M is a silyl group which must contain at least one cationically co-reactive functional group when b=0 and may contain at least one cationically co-reactive group when b is greater than 0; (b) about 50 to about 99 percent by weight of at least one cationically co-reactive monomer copolymerizable with said cationically co-reactive functional group of said polydiorganosiloxane liquid rubber; wherein the percentages of (a) and (b) are based on the total weight of (a) plus (b); and (c) about 05 to about 4 parts by weight of a photoactive radiation activatable cationically reactive catalyst based on the weight of (a) plus (b) The invention also provides release coatings and methods of making release coatings
