TL;DR: In this paper, a free-radically curable binder precursor is provided that comprises a fluorochemical component, which can be used to provide ceramer composites and composite structures with excellent stain, oil and/or water repellency characteristics as well as a high level of abrasion resistance and hardness.
Abstract: A ceramer composition is provided that comprises a plurality of colloidal inorganic oxide particles and a free-radically curable binder precursor. The free-radically curable binder precursor comprises a fluorochemical component that further comprises at least two free-radically curable moieties and at least one fluorinated moiety. By virtue of the inclusion of the fluorochemical component, the ceramer compositions of the present invention can be used to provide ceramer composites and ceramer composite structures with excellent stain, oil and/or water repellency characteristics as well as a high level of abrasion resistance and hardness.

TL;DR: In this paper, a liquid applicator is provided which is particularly useful in applying preoperative surgical scrubs or paints to skin, and the liquid is contained in a frangible ampoule inside the body of the applicator.
Abstract: A liquid applicator is provided which is particularly useful in applying preoperative surgical scrubs or paints to skin. The liquid is contained in a frangible ampoule inside the body of the applicator. This ampoule is supported and protected by a deformable element that prevents unintentional breakage of the ampoule from impacts during storage and handling before use. The applicator is actuated by pushing at least a portion of the frangible ampoule through an aperture in the deformable element and into contact with a means for breaking the ampoule.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe a disposable garment or diaper having a fastener including fastener portions adapted for releasably mechanically engaging each other; and a bonding layer of room-temperature non-tacky thermoplastic material adhering one of the fastener parts to a thin polyolefin layer of the garment and being bonded to that polyoleflinear layer under heat and pressure that leaves the polyilefin layer substantially undeformed.
Abstract: A disposable garment or diaper having a fastener including fastener portions adapted for releasably mechanically engaging each other; and a bonding layer of room-temperature non-tacky thermoplastic material adhering one of the fastener portions to a thin polyolefin layer of the garment and being bonded to that polyolefin layer under heat and pressure that leaves the polyolefin layer substantially undeformed. The bonding layer holds the fastener portion to the polyolefin film with greater force than that which is required to separate the engaged fastener so that the fastener may be repetitively closed and opened.

TL;DR: In this article, a method for increasing the adhesion of a first layer comprising fluoropolymer to a second layer comprising a melt-processable, substantially non-fluorinated polymer is disclosed.
Abstract: A method for increasing the adhesion of a first layer comprising fluoropolymer to a second layer comprising a melt-processable, substantially non-fluorinated polymer is disclosed. The method comprises mixing, preferably in a melt, an aliphatic di- or polyamine of less than 1,000 molecular weight with the melt-processable, substantially non-fluorinated polymer. The resulting multi-layer compositions and articles comprising the composition are also disclosed.

TL;DR: In this article, a method of transforming and storing data for search and display by a computer system includes formatting and aligning data records of a plurality of objects to a common table mapped format.
Abstract: A method of transforming and storing data for search and display by a computer system includes formatting and aligning data records of a plurality of objects to a common table mapped format. The formatted and aligned data records are merged and a database is generated therefrom. The database is stored on an optical disc and includes index tables corresponding to searchable data fields. Image data for the objects is compressed and a main compressed image and an image of lesser resolution are randomly stored to a plurality of storage subdirectories on an optical disc. A program for searching and further processing the stored data is also stored on the optical disc with the database and the storage subdirectories. The program for search and display of the data uses an index bar interface for searching the indexed tables. The objects may include real estate properties.
