TL;DR: In this paper, the shaping layers are bound together at points of fiber intersections by coalescence of binder material on the fibers, and the shaping layer in total weight no more than about 150 pounds per ream.
Abstract: Molded filtration products, such as disposable face masks, are prepared by assembling at least one fibrous shaping layer and one fibrous filtration layer in face-to-face contact and subjecting the assembly to heat and molding pressure. Preferably the assembly comprises two shaping layers, one on each side of the filtration layer. The shaping layers in total weight no more than about 150 pounds per ream and contribute no more than about 20 percent of the total pressure drop through the filtration product. At least one of the shaping layers comprises fibers that can be bound together at points of fiber intersections by coalescence of binder material on the fibers.

TL;DR: A method for making an abrasive article is described in this article, including the steps of providing a substrate having abrasive means on one surface, and providing a plurality of hooking stems on the opposite surface thereof.
Abstract: A method for making an abrasive article is disclosed, including the steps of providing a substrate having abrasive means on one surface, and providing a plurality of hooking stems on the opposite surface thereof. Several illustrative variations of the inventive method are disclosed.

TL;DR: An abrasive article (i.e., a coated abrasive or a three-dimensional, low density abrasive) has a sufficient amount of vanadium oxide incorporated therein to provide a reduced tendency to build up static electricity during the abrading of a workpiece.
Abstract: An abrasive article (i.e., a coated abrasive article or a three-dimensional, low density abrasive article) having a sufficient amount of vanadium oxide incorporated therein to provide a reduced tendency to build up static electricity during the abrading of a workpiece. Preferably, the abrasive article further comprises a compatible binder (preferably, a sulphonated polymer) to aid in securing the vanadium oxide to the abrasive article. In another aspect, a method of making the same is taught.

TL;DR: In this article, various classes of sensitizing dyes for iodonium and sulfonium salts are disclosed, and they are shown to be sensitive to only a small portion of the electromagnetic spectrum.
Abstract: Iodonium and sulfonium photoinitiators are naturally sensitive to only a small portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. Various classes of sensitizing dyes for iodonium and sulfonium salts are disclosed herein.

TL;DR: Diffuse reflective materials proximate to a structure formed by thermally induced phase separation of a thermoplastic polymer and a diluent providing enhanced flexibility and reflectivity especially in the visible wavelengths of 380-730 nanometers are described in this article.
Abstract: Diffuse reflective materials proximate to a structure formed by thermally induced phase separation of a thermoplastic polymer and a diluent providing enhanced flexibility and reflectivity especially in the visible wavelengths of 380-730 nanometers are described. Such materials find a wide variety of application among combinations with other reflective layers. The diffuse reflective articles are useful in backlight units of liquid crystal displays, lights, copy machines, projection system displays, facsimile apparatus, electronic blackboards, diffuse white standards, photographic lights and the like.
