TL;DR: This work has opened a new avenue for inorganic colloidal perovskite materials as efficient photocatalysts to convert CO2 into valuable fuels.
Abstract: Inorganic perovskite quantum dots as optoelectronic materials have attracted enormous attention in light-harvesting and emitting devices However, photocatalytic conversion based on inorganic perovskite halides has not been reported Here, we have synthesized colloidal quantum dots (QDs, 3-12 nm) of cesium lead halide perovskites (CsPbBr3 ) as a new type of photocatalytic material The band gap energies and photoluminescence (PL) spectra are tunable over the visible spectral region according to quantum size effects on an atomic scale The increased carrier lifetime revealed by time-resolved PL spectra, indicates the efficient electron-hole separation and transfer As expected, the CsPbBr3 QDs with high selectivity of greater than 99 % achieve an efficient yield of 209 μmol g-1 towards solar CO2 reduction This work has opened a new avenue for inorganic colloidal perovskite materials as efficient photocatalysts to convert CO2 into valuable fuels

TL;DR: In this paper, the most significant advances in the field of water oxidation were reported, from molecular water oxidation catalysts (WOCs) to photoelectrochemical cells (PEs).
Abstract: This perspective article reports the most significant advances in the field of water oxidation—from molecular water oxidation catalysts (WOCs) to photoelectrochemical cells. Different series of catalysts that can be applied in visible light-driven water oxidation catalysis are discussed in details and several key aspects of their catalytic mechanisms are introduced. In order to construct a water oxidation electrode from molecular catalysts, proper immobilization methods have to be employed. Herein, we present one section about how to attach catalysts onto an electrode/material surface. Finally, the state of the art photoelectrochemical cells that achieve visible light-driven water splitting are described.

TL;DR: An imitation learning enabled branch-and-bound solution in edge intelligent IoVs to speed up the problem solving process with few training samples is put forward and it is proved that OMEN achieves near-optimal performance.
Abstract: Recently, Internet of Vehicles (IoV) has become one of the most active research fields in both academic and industry, which exploits resources of vehicles and Road Side Units (RSUs) to execute various vehicular applications. Due to the increasing number of vehicles and the asymmetrical distribution of traffic flows, it is essential for the network operator to design intelligent offloading strategies to improve network performance and provide high-quality services for users. However, the lack of global information and the time-variety of IoVs make it challenging to perform effective offloading and caching decisions under long-term energy constraints of RSUs. Since Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning can greatly enhance the intelligence and the performance of IoVs, we push AI inspired computing, caching and communication resources to the proximity of smart vehicles, which jointly enable RSU peer offloading, vehicle-to-RSU offloading and content caching in the IoV framework. A Mix Integer Non-Linear Programming (MINLP) problem is formulated to minimize total network delay, consisting of communication delay, computation delay, network congestion delay and content downloading delay of all users. Then, we develop an online multi-decision making scheme (named OMEN) by leveraging Lyapunov optimization method to solve the formulated problem, and prove that OMEN achieves near-optimal performance. Leveraging strong cognition of AI, we put forward an imitation learning enabled branch-and-bound solution in edge intelligent IoVs to speed up the problem solving process with few training samples. Experimental results based on real-world traffic data demonstrate that our proposed method outperforms other methods from various aspects.

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of phosphorus ylide (P-ylide) CO2 adducts were synthesized and first used as organocatalysts for CO2 transformation.
Abstract: A series of phosphorus ylide (P-ylide) CO2 adducts were synthesized and first used as organocatalysts for CO2 transformation. Detailed studies on the cycloaddition reaction of CO2 with terminal epoxides show that P-ylide CO2 adducts are efficient metal-free and halogen-free organocatalysts to mediate this reaction under ambient conditions (25 °C, 1 atm of CO2). More importantly, the reactions proceeded with a broad scope, high efficiency, and good functional group tolerance and the corresponding cyclic carbonate products were obtained in good to excellent yields (46–99%). Meanwhile, the kinetic study by in situ FTIR methods suggested an intermolecular cooperation effect for effectively accelerating the ring opening of terminal epoxides. Furthermore, from an investigation of the catalytic diversity of P-ylide CO2 adducts, CO2 also could be converted to functionalized cyclic α-alkylidene carbonates, oxazolidinone, and N-methylated and N-formylated amines by organocatalytic reactions.
