01 Dec 2010TL;DR: In this article, the effect of camphor incorporation in methanol is investigated, and it is found that the optical properties like optical transmittance, reflectance and absorption are different for different samples.
Abstract: Carbon thin films were deposited on Silicon (Si) substrates by electrolysis of methanol. The effect of camphor (C 10 H 16 O) — a natural source, incorporation in methanol is investigated. Camphor with varying amount (2%, 4%, 6% and 8%) was mixed in methanol solvent to prepare the electrolytes. Silicon substrates were mounted on the negative electrode. Remarkable change in the variation of current density as a function of applied potential was observed with camphor content. The films were characterized by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and optical transmittance/reflectance measurement by UV-VIS-NIR techniques. From optical microscopy and SEM micrograph sharp differences between deposited films are observed. FTIR spectra show absorption peaks in between 1250cm−1 to 1750 cm−1 which is the characteristic of diamond like carbon (DLC)/ amorphous carbon (a-C) films. From the transmittance/reflectance measurement of Si substrate samples for different percentage of camphor in methanol (0% and 6%) using UV-VIS-NIR technique it is found that the optical properties like optical transmittance, reflectance and absorption are different for different samples (due to change in camphor incorporation with methanol). And it is found that the optical band gap for Si substrate using only methanol solution is 1.1 eV then by adding 6% camphor into the solution it increases to 1.2 eV.

TL;DR: The article begins by setting the scene in relation to the basic concepts of medical negligence, and the needs for regulatory reforms towards an effecti v legal regime of ensuring the prevention and redresses of medical ne gligence cases.
Abstract: This paper seeks to engage with the present legal s cenario that exists in connection with the laws and regulations involvi ng medical negligence in Bangladesh. Public and private health sector of Bangladesh virtually remained unregulated since the inception of this co untry. We have a very weak health system and very few rules and regulatio ns are in existence to protect the rights of the patients and to provide r emedy to them in case of breach of liability. The article begins by setting the scene in relation to the basic concepts of medical negligence. Some recent s tories of medical negligence are discussed with legal analysis. The e xisting legal framework of medical negligence is then explored before the a nalysis progresses to the needs for regulatory reforms towards an effecti v legal regime of ensuring the prevention and redresses of medical ne gligence cases.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors focused on the potentiality of IT to market tourism and provide services to attract more tourists hence contribute more in the GDP of Bangladesh, and showed that the economy of Bangladesh is growing where tourism sector is still under privileged but growing.
Abstract: Digitalization is a pre-condition to ensure sustainable growth. Bangladesh is not fully digitalized country but digitalization process is going fast which is helping every sector to appreciate individual profitability and significant growth. In this phenomenon, Information Technology (IT) is playing a significant role to drive the modern information driven world. IT is creating a bondage between the boundaries and across the sectors, cultures and economies. This study is a descriptive research in nature and done fully based on the secondary information. This study is concentrated on the potentiality of IT to market tourism and provide services to attract more tourists hence contribute more in the GDP of Bangladesh. Study shows that the economy of Bangladesh is growing where tourism sector is still under privileged but growing. In these circumstances, IT can influence the process of international network building which ultimately can speed up the process of economic growth. In the whole world, relationship between exports, tourism and economic growth is still ongoing. Tourism is one of the world’s most rapidly growing industries. It is an information intensive sector and IT’s are the key driver for developing countries (Bangladesh) in organizing and marketing their tourism products and services. Web adoption is this sector is very necessary to communicate and/or deliver travel services to a target market. Providing facilities for inquiry, reservation, communication and booking are examples of adoption of the web to provide travel services.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors pointed out that income inequality is a global problem, and nations should come out from this crisis; if not, the recent growth will be growth without equality.
Abstract: Income inequality is a big issue that deserves much more coverage in the policy discussion. It is a global issue. Study found that income inequality is growing worldwide, with increasing per capita GDP. The lowest 40% of the world's population gains less than 25% of the total income. The growing national income is accrued to the wealthiest people around the globe. In many nations, the top 1% of people are receiving an increasing share of income. Not only the poor or developing countries, but also the developed economies are suffering from this disease. This paper noted that income inequality is a global problem, and nations should come out from this crisis; if not, the recent growth will be growth without equality. Since income inequality can be eliminated, and it is a matter of policy choice, policymakers should, therefore, take appropriate measures in this regard.
