TL;DR: Male gender, higher education, living in town/urban areas, good financial condition, and use of internet were positively associated with good knowledge, however, higher knowledge was associated with having less confidence in the final control of COVID-19.
Abstract: Peoples’ adherence to the guidelines and measures suggested in fighting the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is partly determined by the Knowledge, Attitude, and Practices (KAP) of the population. In this cross-sectional study, we primarily addressed two key issues. First, we tried to determine whether there is a significant difference in the estimated COVID-19 knowledge level from the online and phone survey methods. Second, we tried to quantify the knowledge and attitude of COVID-19 in Bangladeshi adult population. Data were collected through phone calls (April 14-23, 2020) and online survey (April 18-19, 2020) in Bangladesh. The questionnaire had 20 knowledge questions with each correct response getting one point and incorrect/don’t know response getting no point (maximum total knowledge score 20). Participants scoring >17 were categorized as having good knowledge. The percentages of good knowledge holders were 57.6%, 75.1%, and 95.8% in the phone (n=1426), online non-medical (n=1097), and online medical participants (n=382), respectively. Comparison between phone and online survey showed that, overall, online survey might overestimate knowledge level than that of phone survey, although there was no difference for elderly, poor, and rural people. Male gender, higher education, living in town/urban areas, good financial condition, and use of internet were positively associated with good knowledge. However, higher knowledge was associated with having less confidence in the final control of COVID-19. Our adult population-level estimates showed that only 32.6% (95% CI 30.1-35.2%) had good knowledge. This study provides crucial information that could be useful for the researchers and policymakers to develop effective strategies.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the antioxidant, cytotoxic, thrombolytic, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic activities of a methanolic extract of M. capitulata leaves.
Abstract: Molineria capitulata is an ornamental plant that has traditionally been used to treat several chronic diseases. The present study was designed to examine the antioxidant, cytotoxic, thrombolytic, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic activities of a methanolic extract of M. capitulata leaves (MEMC) using both experimental and computational models. Previously established protocols were used to perform qualitative and quantitative phytochemical screening in MEMC. A computational study, including molecular docking and ADME/T analyses, was performed. The quantitative phytochemical analysis revealed the total phenolic and flavonoid contents as 148.67 and 24 mg/g, respectively. Antioxidant activity was assessed by examining the reducing power of MEMC, resulting in absorbance of 1.87 at 400 µg/mL, demonstrating a strong reduction capacity. The extract exhibited significant protection against blood clotting and showed the highest protein denaturation inhibition at 500 µg/mL. In both the acetic acid-induced writhing and formalin-induced paw-licking models, MEMC resulted in significant potential pain inhibition in mice. In the computational analysis, 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde, orcinol glucoside, curcapital, crassifogenin C, and 2,6-dimethoxy-benzoic acid displayed a strong predictive binding affinity against the respective receptors. These findings indicated that M. capitulata possesses significant pharmacological activities to an extent supported by computational studies.

TL;DR: In this paper, a concept about SCADA system using IEEE 802.22 standard is presented where details design of system, analyses of feasibility and benefits over wired and other wireless systems and scopes to enhance the performance are described.
Abstract: Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems are critically important to the procedure of modernization of contemporary power systems, industries etc. A SCADA system involves the integrated technologies of computer, communication, electric devices etc. Electric utilities are expected to choose the communication media best suited for the characteristics of distribution facilities. The communications systems provide the physical medium for transferring, controlling and acquisition of data within SCADA from remote locations. Currently, it is generally recognized that wired communications will serve as the best solution to this problem. Obviously, compared with wired communications, wireless communication presents a number of security and reliability concerns for SCADA system but wireless communications become an attractive option as communication network. In SCADA system the communication system plays a key role and to meet objective of the SCADA system, as a result, various communication media have been applied. In our paper we present a concept about SCADA system using IEEE 802.22 standard where details design of system, analyses of feasibility and benefits over wired and other wireless systems and scopes to enhance the performance are also described. If we apply this system in a large industrial distributed system and in a total railway system, then the total designs are also shown in our paper.

TL;DR: PIR sensor based semi-autonomous mobile rescues robot is developed which can detect live human being from an unreachable point of the disaster area with highest probability of success rate in that kind of situation.
Abstract: In this modern era, technological development lead the creation of sky scraper buildings and dwellings which increase risks of losing life due to natural and manmade disasters. Many people died by trapping under debris as their presence cannot detect by the rescue team. Sometimes, it is impossible to reach in certain points of the disasters in such calamity hit zones. The situation is worst for developing country like Bangladesh because of low quality design and construction. In this paper, PIR sensor based semi-autonomous mobile rescues robot is developed which can detect live human being from an unreachable point of the disaster area. Joystick and RF technology is used to control the semi-autonomous robot and communicate with control point. Ultrasonic sensor is used for obstacle detection in navigation path of robot and gas sensor is used to detect gas leak inside the building. IP Camera is also integrated to observe and analyze conditions that will facilitate human detection in reliable manner with highest probability of success rate in that kind of situation.
