Abstract: Bangladesh has been experiencing dual economic trends with and without the inclusive institution since its independence in 1971. The era of nationalization with limited property rights and a liberal economy with an inclusive institution have evolved the economic path of Bangladesh. The study aims to explore if the privatization matters for economic development through entrepreneurship and to find the outcomes of these two-policy shocks producing. The current study presented both trend analysis and econometric modeling using annual time series data from 1960 to 2017. Findings show that private property rights instigate private entrepreneurial activity more through higher GDP per capita, more capital formation, and imports of capital goods. Eventually, privatization contributes to the economic development of Bangladesh. The result of the study is new from the perspective of Bangladesh compared to the existing bulk of knowledge related to economic impacts of privatization, and thus the findings of the study are subject to offer impactful benefits to policymakers.

TL;DR: A Bengali character based digital clock is designed which shows time in 13-segment LED display to respect the authors' national heroes, who sacrificed their lives for their language in 21st February, 1952 as well as to introduce their local language in technology besides English.
Abstract: Digital clock is a very common and useful device to show the time and date. 7-segment, Alphanumeric, Liquid Crystal and Graphic displays are commonly used in digital clock. They show time in English character. But, we were motivated to design this useful device showing time in Bengali to respect our national heroes, who sacrificed their lives for our language in 21th February, 1952 as well as to introduce our local language in technology besides English. In this paper, a Bengali character based digital clock is designed which shows time in 13-segment LED display. Here, a real time clock (DS1307) is used to generate precise timing pulse, a microcontroller (PIC 16F877A) is used to adjust the time and to interface the 13-segment displays. The time of the clock can be adjusted by pressing simple push switches. The design is simple, cost effective and user friendly.

TL;DR: In this paper, the AHP-TOPSIS integrated model based on multi-criteria, investigation selects the best ERP systems in Bangladesh by integrating AHP and TOPSIS.
Abstract: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software has become a very important part of the business nowadays. The main aim of this paper is to choose the most qualified and efficient ERP system in Bangladesh. MCDM is a process where complex decision making is easy compared to many alternatives based on multi-criteria. AHP and TOPSIS are two models of MCDM. Using the AHP-TOPSIS integrated model based on multi-criteria, investigation selects the best ERP systems. Integrated AHP-TOPSIS model reduces the pairwise comparison between the criteria of alternatives. Our proposed method can choose appropriate ERP software for an organization according to their demands. For selecting the best ERP software by integrating AHP-TOPSIS is probably the first research in Bangladesh.

TL;DR: In this article, the performance of ZnO thin film was analyzed using the one-dimensional simulator AMPS-1D to determine its' maximum efficiency, which was found to be 22.836%.
Abstract: CdTe solar cell is found favourable material for solar cell due to its ideal energy band gap, absorption coefficient, and higher efficiency. The efficiency and performance of CdTe solar cell can be further improved by adding ZnO as front contact. Zinc oxide has both semiconducting and piezoelectric properties, which makes it an optimum choice front contact for any solar cell. ZnO is one of the best options for nanostructures among all materials due to its structures and properties. In this paper, ZnO thin film has been analyzed using the one-dimensional simulator AMPS-1D to determine its' maximum efficiency. Different parameter of ZnO (100nm) thin film is simulated such that sun intensity, temperature, thickness, relative permittivity, mobility and effective density of state. The maximum efficiency of ZnO thin film is found 22.836%. The study highlights the changing of different parameter of ZnO thin film and improves its efficiency.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identify marketing aspects related to tourism products and services in Bangladesh, identify the constraints regarding tourism products, and suggest remedial measures accordingly, and show that the tourism industry can add value to the country's economy if an effective strategic marketing plan can be developed and implemented to sell the products to its huge target market.
Abstract: Tourism is considered the world’s most significant and rapid growing industry. Having blessed with the stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, Bangladesh has also a very bright prospect in tourism industry. Beaches, Forests, Hills and islands, Historical places, and Archaeological Sites are the most appealing tourism products for the tourists and Bangladesh has abundance of the availability of such tourism products. This chapter aims to identify marketing aspects related to tourism products and services in Bangladesh, identifies the constraints regarding tourism products and services, and suggests remedial measures accordingly. Secondary data from previous literature, annual reports, magazines, Bangladesh Tourism Board etc. are used for this study. Results show that the tourism industry can add value to the country’s economy if an effective strategic marketing plan can be developed and implemented to sell the products to its huge target market. If there is no initiative for such a strategic move, the industry might fail to reach its destination even though the country has the potentiality. An industry analysis is a pre-requisite for such a move for the development of the tourism of the country. This research might help the policymakers and marketing practitioners to make new policy and strategy on tourism products and services for fostering overall tourism development in Bangladesh.
