Combination of talc-bentonite for deposition control in papermaking processes

Abstract: A method for minimizing pitch, ink, and stickies particle deposits in the paper making process by causing the retention of such particles onto fiber, comprising the steps of adding an effective pitch, ink, and stickies controlling amount of talc to a suspension of fiber in contact with the paper machine and associated parts and adding an effective pitch, ink, and stickies controlling amount of bentonite to the suspension, thereby increasing retention of pitch, ink, and stickies onto the fiber and minimizing the deposition of pitch, ink, and stickies particles on the paper machine and associated parts.

Continuous process for the preparation of an acrylic acid-methyl acrylate copolymer in a tubular reactor

Abstract: A continuous process for the preparation of water-soluble copolymers of vinyl carboxylic acids and lower alkyl acrylates is disclosed. The process employs a tubular reactor and polymerizes the monomers in aqueous solution in the presence of a free radical catalyst. Molecular weights of from 3,000-300,000 and preferably from about 5,000-25,000 are obtained utilizing this process.

Abstract: A method for determining wafer cleanliness by fluorometric monitoring of the impurities in the semiconductor wafer chip rinse solution. A clean chip is indicated by a leveling off or increased concentration of impurities as the rinsing of the chip progresses. A method for optimizing reuse or recycling of the water discharged from the rinse process which accurately measures the contaminants in that water.

Solid product dissolver and method of use thereof

Abstract: The present invention provides a device (10) for producing a water treatment solution from a solid chemical block (20) for distribution into a water system selected from the group including an institutional water system and an industrial water system. The device includes a housing to contain the solid chemical block. A fluid, preferably water at ambient temperature, is introduced into the housing (12) to dissolve the block (216) and form a liquid solution that may then be dispensed into either an institutional water system or an industrial water system. A method for dispensing the liquid solution with the device is also provided.
