20 Oct 2009TL;DR: In this paper, a method of predicting the stability of a hydrocarbon process stream is disclosed and claimed, which includes obtaining samples from one or more process streams and measuring the actual stability and the near infrared spectral absorbance of those samples.
Abstract: A method of predicting the stability of a hydrocarbon process stream is disclosed and claimed. The method includes obtaining samples from one or more process streams and measuring the actual stability and the near infrared spectral absorbance of those samples. A classification model is initially developed to identify sample subsets and correlation model is created using the stability and absorbance data by inserting that data into a mathematical function. Online or offline measurements are then taken from the hydrocarbon process stream, the classification model is used initially to identify the subset and corresponding correlation model is used to predict the stability of the stream.

13 Nov 1981TL;DR: In this article, the poly N,N,dimethylamino methyl acrylamide crystal modifier is used in conjunction with a water-soluble cationically charged coagulant.
Abstract: Poly N,N-dimethylaminomethyl acrylamide, when added to clarified trona solutions, improves the crystals subsequently formed from these solutions. Preferably, the poly N,N,-dimethylamino methyl acrylamide crystal modifier is used in conjunction with a water-soluble cationically charged coagulant.

12 Mar 1992TL;DR: In this article, the water of the waste water system of a paint spray operation is dosed with a composition comprising a polymer and aluminum sulfate, which contains at least about 10 mole percent of cationic mer units of monoethylenically unsaturated monomer.
Abstract: Oversprayed paint in a paint spray operation is detackified by dosing the water of the waste water system of such operation with a composition comprising a polymer and aluminum sulfate. The polymer contains at least about 10 mole percent of cationic mer units of monoethylenically unsaturated monomer.

09 Apr 1981TL;DR: In this article, a method of enhancing the activity of water-soluble, low molecular weight polymeric dispersants used to suspend iron oxides in cooling waters which also contain soluble iron compounds was proposed.
Abstract: A method of enhancing the activity of water-soluble, low molecular weight polymeric dispersants used to suspend iron oxides in cooling waters which also contain soluble iron compounds comprises treating such waters with the water-soluble, low molecular weight polymeric dispersant and a water-soluble copolymer consisting of 25% by weight of acrylic acid and 75% by weight acrylamide with the ratio of copolymer to soluble iron being 1:1.
