TL;DR: In this article, a water-soluble polymer was polymerized with a composition containing lignin, modified lignina, brown coal or modified brown coal in an amount ranging between 5-95%.
Abstract: said composition containing lignin, modified lignin, brown coal or modified brown coal in an amount ranging between 5-95% with the lignin, modified lignin, brown coal or modified brown coal having been present during the polymerization of the water-soluble polymer.

TL;DR: In this article, a cationic polymer is added to the slurry prior to sheet formation in an amount effective to provide at least about a 50 percent increase in retention without more than about a 10 percent decrease in formation.
Abstract: A process in which paper or paperboard is made by forming an aqueous cellulosic slurry, draining said slurry on a screen to form a sheet and drying said sheet, employs a cationic polymer as a substantially single component retention aid. The cationic polymer has a cationic charge density of at least about 3.2 equivalents of cationic nitrogen per kilogram of dry polymer. The cationic polymer also has an Intrinsic Viscosity of at least about 8 dl/g. The polymer is added to the slurry prior to sheet formation in an amount effective to provide at least about a 50 percent increase in retention without more than about a 10 percent decrease in formation.

TL;DR: In this paper, a controller module (2) connected to a probe module (3) having a specified metallurgy and a resistor device capable of determining a resistance value which identifies a type of metallurgical material is also provided.
Abstract: Devices, methods and systems are provided for monitoring of industrial processes. Devices and systems are provided which include a controller module (2) connected to a probe module (3) having a specified metallurgy and a resistance module (36) capable of determining a specified resistance value to identify the metallurgy of the probe (3) for controller module (2). A resistor device capable of determining a resistance value which identifies a type of metallurgical material is also provided. The devices and systems provided are inexpensive, portable, electrically safe, easy to set-up and operate by unskilled personnel, may be connected to both desktop and portable computerized devices and can provide real-time monitoring of industrial processes.

TL;DR: In this paper, the output of mixing devices of the type described in U.S. Pat. No. 4,057,223 may be substantially improved by attaching to the outlet of such mixing devices a vertical line containing flow control means, eductor means, and a long leg which communicates with a discharge line for feeding dilute water-soluble polymer solution.
Abstract: The output of mixing devices of the type described in U.S. Pat. No. 4,057,223 may be substantially improved by attaching to the outlet of such mixing devices a vertical line containing flow control means, eductor means, and a long leg which communicates with a discharge line for feeding dilute water-soluble polymer solution. The discharge line is perpendicular to the leg and is fitted with a second flow control means. While the invention is useful for increasing the efficiency of the devices of the type described in U.S. Pat. No. 4,057,223, it may be adapted to improving other mixing devices.
