22 Jan 2004TL;DR: In this article, the polyester compositions of the present invention can be effectively utilized, for example, to treat crude oil during production and refinery processing, and methods of producing and using same are provided.
Abstract: Polyester compositions and methods of producing and using same are provided. The polyester compositions at least include an anionic diacid monomer or diester monomer thereof and a polyether. The polyester compositions of the present invention can be effectively utilized, for example, to treat crude oil during production and refinery processing.

31 Jan 1972TL;DR: An improved water flooding process for recovering oil from a subterranean oil-bearing formation which comprises introducing a stable liquid dispersion of a water soluble anionic vinyl addition polymer and a water-soluble cationic polymer into an input well penetrating the formation is described in this article.
Abstract: An improved water flooding process for recovering oil from a subterranean oil-bearing formation which comprises introducing a stable liquid dispersion of a water-soluble anionic vinyl addition polymer and a water-soluble cationic polymer into an input well penetrating the formation. The dispersion comprises: A. A polymeric latex composed of a water-in-oil emulsion which contains dispersed therein a finely divided water-soluble anionic vinyl addition polymer, said polymeric latex having uniformly distributed therethroughout; and B. A water-soluble cationic polymer; WITH THE WEIGHT RATIO OF A:B being within the range of 1:10 to 10:1 and the total amount of A+B present within said dispersion being within the range of from 0.001 percent to 75 percent by weight.

15 Dec 1995TL;DR: In this article, a method of determining the concentration of a water soluble polymeric treating agent added to wastewater treatment system is proposed. But the method comprises several steps including dosing the body of water with a predetermined concentration of treating agent having a fluorescent tag covalently bonded to the treating agent, removing a sample of the water containing the tagged treating agent.
Abstract: The invention comprises a method of determining the concentration of a water soluble polymeric treating agent added to wastewater treatment system. The method comprises several steps including dosing the body of water with a predetermined concentration of a treating agent having a fluorescent tag covalently bonded to the treating agent, removing a sample of the water containing the tagged treating agent, analyzing the emissivity of the sample to measure the concentration of the treating agent in the sample and adjusting the concentration of the treating agent accordingly to fit within a predetermined concentration range.
