08 Sep 1970TL;DR: In this paper, a probe having at least one conductivity cell defined by a pair of electrodes formed as printed circuitry on a substrate of insulting material such as a printed circuit board is adapted to be immersed in the solution to be measured and may or may not include a thermistor on the substrate to compensate for variation in solution temperature.
Abstract: A probe having at least one conductivity cell defined by a pair of electrodes formed as printed circuitry on a substrate of insulting material such as a printed circuit board. The probe is adapted to be immersed in the solution to be measured, and may or may not include a thermistor on the substrate to compensate for variation in solution temperature. The exposed area of the electrodes and the distance therebetween can be accurately and precisely controlled to provide consistent cell constants in probe manufacture.

09 Jun 1998TL;DR: In this paper, the output from the photodiode is amplified to produce an output voltage proportional to the quantity of fluorescence striking the detector, and continuous monitoring of a voltage output allows real-time measurement of the amount of chemical treatment agent or other additive present in the sample stream.
Abstract: Fluorescence of a sample cell 20, 120, resulting from excitation by a diode laser 12 or a LED excitation source, 112 is imaged, optionally with a lens, 14, 114 onto a silicon photodiode detector 16, 116. An optical filter 18, 118 is placed between the sample cell and the photodiode detector to reject scattered excitation light. Output from the photodiode is amplified to produce an output voltage proportional to the quantity of fluorescence striking the photodiode detector. Since fluorescence is proportional to the concentration of a fluorophore present in a sample stream through hthe sample cell, and the concentration of the fluorophore is further proportional to a concentration of a chemical treatment agent or other additive present, then continuous monitoring of a voltage output allows real-time measurement of the amount of chemical treatment agent or other additive present in the sample stream.

08 Mar 2005TL;DR: In this paper, a product for dust control and freeze control, wherein the product comprises a mixture from about 45 to about 90 weight percent of glycerin, from about 5 to about 50 weight of water and from about 2 to about 15 weight of a water soluble salt is described and claimed.
Abstract: A product for dust control and freeze control, wherein the product comprises a mixture from about 45 to about 90 weight percent of glycerin, from about 5 to about 50 weight percent of water and from about 2 to about 15 weight percent of a water soluble salt is described and claimed. The product may be diluted with about 10 to about 400 weight percent of water for use, based on the amount of the product present. The freezing point of the product for example may be about -35°C. The product may be synthesized using commercially available chemicals, or it may be derived from vegetable oils, or it may be a byproduct from a biodiesel manufacturing process of forming fatty acid esters from vegetable oils.
