23 May 1988TL;DR: In this article, a method for dewatering a slurry of solid particles suspended in a liquid using a twin belt press de-watering system, comprising the following steps, is described.
Abstract: A method for dewatering a slurry of solid particles suspended in a liquid using a twin belt press dewatering system, comprising the following steps: feeding the slurry of solid particles into the dewatering system; feeding a cationic amine salt solution into the dewatering system at a point just prior to the mixing drum, the cationic amine salt being a latex copolymer of acrylamide and dimethylaminoethylmethacrylate sulfuric acid salt having a mole ratio in the range between about 30:70 to 70:30, preferably 53:47; mixing the cationic amine salt solution with the slurry of solid particles in the mixing drum; and feeding the cationic amine salt solution/slurry mixture to the twin belt press, whereby the slurry of solid particles is dewatered. The cationic amine salt solution having a strength of less than 1% and a polymer concentration of about 35%.

22 Jan 2003TL;DR: A method of dewatering sludge comprising adding an effective amount of cellulolytic enzymes, one or more oxidants and one or many flocculants to the sludge to form a mixture of water and coagulated and flocculated solids is described in this paper.
Abstract: A method of dewatering sludge comprising adding an effective amount of one or more cellulolytic enzymes, one or more oxidants and one or more flocculants to the sludge to form a mixture of water and coagulated and flocculated solids and separating the coagulated and flocculated solids from the water.

06 Mar 2007TL;DR: A cosmetically acceptable composition comprising from about 0.1 to about 10 weight percent, based on polymer solids, of a water-soluble ampholyte polymer, was proposed in this paper.
Abstract: A cosmetically acceptable composition comprising from about 0.1 to about 10 weight percent, based on polymer solids, of a water-soluble ampholyte polymer comprising: from at least 1 to as much as 95 weight percent of the nonionic monomer acrylamide; from at least 5 to as much as 80 weight percent of the cationic monomer dimethyldiallylammonium chloride; from at least 1 to as much as 75 weight percent of the anionic monomer acrylic acid, is disclosed. The application of these polymers to a keratinous substance is also disclosed. In addition, a method of treating a keratinous substance comprising applying a cosmetically acceptable composition comprising from about 0.1 to about 10 weight percent, based on polymer solids, of an ampholyte polymer produced by the following process: (1) preparing a monomer solution containing: from at least 1 to as much as 95 weight percent of the nonionic monomer acrylamide; from at least 5 to as much as 80 weight percent of the cationic monomer dimethyldiallylammonium chloride; from at least 1 to as much as 75 weight percent of the anionic monomer acrylic acid; (2) providing a reactor and water to said reactor; (3) optionally charging said reactor with a sequestering agent, a chain transfer agent or a combination thereof; (3) purging said reactor to remove oxygen from said reactor; (4) heating the contents of said reactor; and (5) feeding said monomer solution and initiator solution into said reactor, is disclosed.

11 Oct 1988TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe a process of making a water-in-oil emulsion which contains from 5-60% by weight of a hydrophobic acrylamide terpolymer composed of the random repeating units: where R is methyl or hydrogen, M is hydrogen, alkali metal, ammonia, or amine, with the mol ratio of A:B:C being A(2-50):B(50-98):C(0.1-15).
Abstract: A process of making a water-in-oil emulsion which contains from 5-60% by weight of a hydrophobic acrylamide terpolymer composed of the random repeating units: ##STR1## where: R is methyl or hydrogen, M is hydrogen, alkali metal, ammonia, or amine, R 1 is a hydrophobic radical, with the mol ratio of A:B:C being A(2-50):B(50-98):C(0.1-15), which comprises reacting a 5-60% by weight water-in-oil emulsion of an acrylamide polymer with a hydrophobic amine at a temperature above 120° C. for a period of time sufficient to transamidate the acrylamide groups in the acrylamide polymer with the hydrophobic amine.
