TL;DR: The present review summarizes the strategies using curcumin in various nanocarrier delivery systems to overcome poor solubility and inconsistent bioavailability ofCurcumin and describes the current status and challenges for the future.
Abstract: Introduction: Curcumin is a safe, affordable and natural bioactive molecule of turmeric (Curcuma longa). It has gained considerable attention in recent years for its multiple pharmacological activities. However, its optimum pharmaceutical potential has been limited by its lack of aqueous solubility and poor bioavailability. To mitigate the above limitations, recently various nanostructured water-soluble delivery systems were developed to increase the solubility and bioavailability of curcumin. Areas covered: Major reasons contributing to the low bioavailability of curcumin appear to be owing to its poor solubility, low absorption, rapid metabolism and rapid systemic elimination. The present review summarizes the strategies using curcumin in various nanocarrier delivery systems to overcome poor solubility and inconsistent bioavailability of curcumin and describes the current status and challenges for the future. Expert opinion: The development of various drug delivery systems to deliver curcumin will certa...

07 Aug 1972TL;DR: In this article, a water soluble VINYL ADDITION POLYMER may be rAPidly DISSOLVED in water by first DISPERSING these POLYMERS into a WATER-IN-OIL EMULSION and then inverting these EMulSions in water.
Abstract: WATER-SOLUBLE VINYL ADDITION POLYMERS MAY BE RAPIDLY DISSOLVED IN WATER BY FIRST DISPERSING THESE POLYMERS INTO A WATER-IN-OIL EMULSION AND THEN INVERTING THESE EMULSIONS IN WATER. THE INVERSION OF THE EMULSION RELEASES THE POLYMER INTO WATER AS A SOLUTION.

29 Apr 2003TL;DR: On-line and off-line methods of simultaneously cleaning and disinfecting an industrial water system are described and claimed as discussed by the authors. But these methods involve the addition to the water of the industrial water systems of a compound selected from the group consisting of the alkali salts of chlorite and chlorate and mixtures thereof; and an acid, followed by allowing the water in the industrial system to circulate for several hours.
Abstract: On-Line and Off-Line methods of simultaneously cleaning and disinfecting an industrial water system are described and claimed. The methods involve the addition to the water of the industrial water system of a Compound selected from the group consisting of the alkali salts of chlorite and chlorate and mixtures thereof; and an acid, followed by allowing the water in the industrial water system to circulate for several hours. The reaction of the alkali salts of chlorite and chlorate and acid produces chlorine dioxide in-situ in the water of the industrial water system. The chlorine dioxide kills microorganisms and the acid acts to remove deposits upon the water-contact surfaces of the equipment. An alternative method involves the use of a chelating agent and a biocide. Other possible cleaning and disinfection reagents may be added as needed including corrosion inhibitors, chelating agents, biocides, surfactants and reducing agents. These cleaning and disinfecting methods work in a variety of industrial water systems including cooling water and boiler water systems.
