10 Jul 1972TL;DR: In this paper, a CERAMIC FIBERIBER SUCH as FIBerFRAX is used with SILICA SOL and SEQUENTIALLY with a SOURCE of ALUMINA.
Abstract: A METHOD OR PROCEDURE FOR THE PREPARATION OF THERMAL INSULATION BOARD WHEREIN A CERAMIC FIBER SUCH AS FIBERFRAX IS SLURRIED WITH SILICA SOL AND SEQUENTIALLY WITH A SOURCE OF ALUMINA. THE SOLUTION IS ADJUSTED TO A SLIGHTLY ACIDNEUTRAL PH OF 5-7 AND THE ALURRY IS FLOCCULATED WITH A MINOR AMOUNT OF AN ANIONIC POLYMER CONSISTING OF A LATEX OF ACRYLAMIDE/ACRYLIC ACID. THE FLOCCULATED MIX IS SUBSEQUENTLY VACUUM FORMED AND DRIED UNDER CONVENTIONAL PROCEDURES.

30 Nov 2006TL;DR: In this article, a method of increasing the absorbency of an absorbent article using a super-absorbent polymer composition to a paper web in a papermaking process was proposed.
Abstract: The invention provides a method of increasing the absorbency of an absorbent article. The method includes introducing a super-absorbent polymer composition to a paper web in a papermaking process to increase the absorbent capacity of an absorbent article made in the process. The polymer composition includes a super-absorbent polymer and a cross-linking agent applied to the paper web. The paper web is then subjected to heat in a heated drum or a through-air drier to cure or cross-link the super-absorbent polymer.

05 Jan 2010TL;DR: In this article, a composition of matter consisting of an adhesive composition that includes a glycerol-based polyol was proposed for producing very soft high grades of tissue paper, which allows the composition to become rewetted after creping and allows for strong levels of adhesion even at high temperatures.
Abstract: The invention provides a composition of matter useful for producing very soft high grades of tissue paper. The composition of matter comprises an adhesive composition that includes a glycerol-based polyol. The glycerol-based polyol prevents the composition from becoming brittle and is non-volatile. This allows the composition to become rewetted after creping and allows for strong levels of adhesion even at high temperatures.

13 Dec 2000TL;DR: In this paper, a pseudo-fouling detector system with a pair of identical sensors, where said sensors measure a variable, such as, temperature or pH, in a fluid, producing an electric output representative of the variable.
Abstract: A system and method are provided which enables the monitoring and if desired controlling of fouling within a fluid system. The present invention includes a pseudo-fouling detector system with a pair of identical sensors, where said sensors measure a variable, such as, temperature or pH, in a fluid, producing an electric output representative of the variable. The variable measurements are used to calculate a fouling index which is further used to develop fouling treatment strategies for controlling the amount of fouling in the fluid system.

19 Nov 2008TL;DR: In this article, an apparatus and method for monitoring and controlling microbiological activity in a process stream by measuring dissolved oxygen is described. But this method is not suitable for the measurement of water.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for monitoring and controlling microbiological activity in a process stream by measuring dissolved oxygen is disclosed.
