TL;DR: The first example of a smart crystalline material, the 2:1 cocrystal of probenecid and 4,4'-azopyridine, which responds reversibly to multiple external stimuli by twisting, bending, and elastic deformation without fracture is reported.
Abstract: The first example of a smart crystalline material, the 2:1 cocrystal of probenecid and 4,4'-azopyridine, which responds reversibly to multiple external stimuli (heat, UV light, and mechanical pressure) by twisting, bending, and elastic deformation without fracture is reported. This material is also able to self-heal on heating and cooling, thereby overcoming the main setbacks of molecular crystals for future applications as crystal actuators. The photo- and thermomechanical effects and self-healing capabilities of the material are rooted in reversible trans-cis isomerization of the azopyridine unit and crystal-to-crystal phase transition. Fairly isotropic intermolecular interactions and interlocked crisscrossed molecular packing secure high elasticity of the crystals.

TL;DR: The developed topology requires less switch count and driver circuit count compared with the few recently developed RS MLI topologies and a modified version of fish swarm optimization algorithm is examined for computing optimum switching angles required to control the SDDS MLI.
Abstract: Recently multilevel inverters (MLIs) have received wide attention from industry and academia, as they are changing into a viable technology for diverse applications. To produce high-quality output using less switch count, development of novel reduced switch MLI (RS MLI) topologies has been a focus of current research theme. This paper presents design and control of a switched-diode dual source single switch MLI (SDDS MLI). The generalized SDDS MLI is first designed using an asymmetric basic unit. Proposed SDDS MLI requires less switch count and driver circuit count compared with the few recently developed RS MLI topologies. To improve the voltage quality by eliminating targeted low-order harmonics, a modified version of fish swarm optimization algorithm is examined for computing optimum switching angles required to control the SDDS MLI. Moreover, suitability and superiority of the derived algorithm are established by comparing with traditional selective harmonic elimination techniques. The developed topology is investigated through several MATLAB simulations as well as experimental tests in the laboratory applying the modified control approach.

TL;DR: A patient-centric design of a decentralized healthcare management system with blockchain-based EHR using javascript-based smart contracts using html fabric and composer technology is presented and the results affirm the efficacy of the proposed approach.
Abstract: With the proliferation of information and communication technology in every walks of the society, including healthcare services, digitization, and increased sophistication have been gaining pace, digital healthcare alternatives such as electronic healthcare record (EHR) have gained prominence with increased patients’ data volume. However, traditional EHR-based systems are plagued by data loss risks, security and immutability consensus over health records, gapped communication among constituted hospitals, and inefficient clinical data retrieval systems, among others. Blockchain has been developed as a decentralized technology that holds the promise to address the aforesaid facilities in EHR-based systems. This article presents a patient-centric design of a decentralized healthcare management system with blockchain-based EHR using javascript-based smart contracts. A working prototype based on hyperledger fabric and composer technology has also been implemented which guarantees the security of the proposed model. Experiments with the hyperledger caliper benchmarking tool provide performance such as latency, throughput, resource utilization, and so on under varied scenarios and control parameters. The results affirm the efficacy of the proposed approach.

TL;DR: In this paper, a synergetic effect of molecular weight (Mn) and fluorine (F) on the performance of all-polymer solar cells (all-PSCs) is comprehensively investigated by tuning the Mn of the acceptor polymer poly((N,N′-bis(2-octyldodecyl)-naphthalene-1,4,5,8-bis (dicarboximide)-2,6-diyl)-alt-5,5′-(2,2′-bithiophene)) (P
Abstract: A synergetic effect of molecular weight (Mn) and fluorine (F) on the performance of all-polymer solar cells (all-PSCs) is comprehensively investigated by tuning the Mn of the acceptor polymer poly((N,N′-bis(2-octyldodecyl)-naphthalene-1,4,5,8-bis(dicarboximide)-2,6-diyl)-alt-5,5′-(2,2′-bithiophene)) (P(NDI2OD-T2)) and the F content of donor polymer poly(2,3-bis-(3-octyloxyphenyl)quinoxaline-5,8-dyl-alt-thiophene-2,5-diyl). Both Mn and F variations strongly influence the charge transport properties and morphology of the blend films, which have a significant impact on the photovoltaic performance of all-PSCs. In particular, the effectiveness of high Mn in increasing power conversion efficiency (PCE) can be greatly improved by the devices based on optimum F content, reaching a PCE of 7.31% from the best all-PSC combination. These findings enable us to further understand the working principles of all-PSCs with a view on achieving even higher power conversion efficiency in the future.
