TL;DR: Results showed that ETW1 and ETW2 had good antioxidant and hydroxyl and DPPH radicals scavenging activities and lipid peroxidation inhibition in vitro, and could be a potential source of antioxidant and used as possible food supplement or ingredient in the pharmaceutical industry.

TL;DR: The results demonstrate that the composite hydrogel was both non-toxic and biodegradable and that CECs transplanted by the compositeHydrogel could survive and retain normal morphology and provide an opportunity for corneal endothelium reconstruction based on tissue engineering by the in situ formed composite hydrology.

TL;DR: The layer of sudden change of physical and chemical properties in surface seawater should serve as a basis for defining the sea surface microlayer should, and be regarded as the practical operational thickness of the seasurface microlayer.
Abstract: Seawater samples of the sea surface microlayer were obtained from the ocean, coastal waters, and laboratory imitation experiments adopting glass plate, rotating drum, screen, and funnel samplers. The result was that surface microlayer samples of thickness 50 microm could be taken, not by the popular screen and funnel techniques, but by glass plate or rotating drum techniques. The layer of sudden change of physical and chemical properties in the surface microlayer was found at 50 microm below the sea-air interface. These physical and chemical properties included tens of physical and chemical parameters, such as concentrations of organic matter, nutrients, and dissolved trace metals, biochemical oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand chlorophyll-a, surface tensions, and pH. Therefore, it was suggested that the layer of sudden change of physical and chemical properties in surface seawater should serve as a basis for defining the sea surface microlayer should, and be regarded as the practical operational thickness of the sea surface microlayer. The apparent sampling thickness of the sea surface microlayer from surface seawater should be 50+/-10 microm.

TL;DR: Historical demographies under a Pleistocene climate model using observed genetic parameters showed rapid population growth after the Last Glacial Maximum 18-20 k years ago and a flat population history during previous climate fluctuations, while population declines during the LGM appear to have erased signals of previous population fluctuations.

TL;DR: Results show that the proposed approach achieves the best classification performance and relatively higher runtime performance and can not only efficiently reduce the dimension of feature space, but also overcome the negative impacts of multi-class imbalance and concept drift problems on ML techniques.
