TL;DR: In this article, a controlled-release device consisting of a core comprising one or more water-soluble ingredients, at least one of these water soluble ingredients being the ingredient which it is desired to release in a controlled manner, the abovementioned core being surrounded by a semi-permeable coating membrane.
Abstract: The invention relates to a controlled-release device consisting of a core comprising one or more water-soluble ingredients, at least one of these water-soluble ingredients being the ingredient which it is desired to release in a controlled manner, the abovementioned core being surrounded by a semi-permeable coating membrane in which one (or more) water-soluble particle(s) is/are dispersed, the number thereof being such as to give rise by dissolution, when the device is placed in an aqueous environment, to one or two pores extending through the coating and permitting communication between the core and the outside of the device.
