Abstract: An entrainment drive (32) comprising two rotary entrainment discs (33, 36) and acting in one rotary direction is provided between the lift cylinder (20) and the rotary plug drive shaft (18). The first entrainment disc (33) can be driven by the lift cylinder (20) and has grooves (34, 36) or corresponding bores whilst the second disc (36) connected to the plug drive shaft (18) has at least one entrainment bolt (41) positively engaging in the grooves. The angle between the grooves corresponds exactly to the angle between the individual pipe branches of the join. USE - An extremely accurate displacement of the plug between the individual connecting pipes independent of the operating conditions.

Abstract: Eine geschlechtergerechte Bildung stellt in der heutigen Gesellschaft nach wie vor eine Herausforderung dar Nachdem bereits seit Ende des 19 Jahrhunderts um Madchen- und Frauenbildung gekampft wurde, stehen seit einigen Jahren auch Jungen im Zentrum von Forderungen nach Geschlechtergerechtigkeit (vgl etwa BMBF 2008) Von Geschlechtergerechtigkeit in und durch die Bildung wird erwartet, dass sie Frauen wie Mannern sozialen Anschluss und gesellschaftliche Integration ermoglicht Dennoch wird das Geschlechterverhaltnis im Bildungswesen auf vielfaltige Weise hinterfragt, denn die Facher- und Berufswahl sowie die beruflichen Moglichkeiten bleiben nach wie vor weitgehend traditionell verteilt (vgl Schluter 2008, S 686) Auch laut Herwartz-Emden (2008) ist die zentrale Grundannahme fur eine geschlechtergerechte Padagogik – und dies gilt auch fur die Didaktik –, dass Geschlechterdifferenzen nach wie vor zu strukturellen Ungleichheiten fuhren Geschlechterkonzeptionen sind zwar im Zuge von Modernisierungsprozessen vielgestaltiger und zum Teil auch widerspruchlicher geworden, das Ziel einer Demokratisierung von Geschlechterverhaltnissen gilt dennoch noch nicht als erreicht (vgl ebd, S 118)

The nozzle is formed by a fixed plate (8) and a movable plate (9) sandwiched between cover plates to form a rectangular cross-section orifice. The area of the nozzle is dependent upon the output pressure (Pa) which acts on the underside of a diaphragm (28). The topside is subjected to a set force applied by a spring (29).

Delayed Cerebrospinal Fluid Rhinorrhea Associated With Ethmoidal Encephalocele After Resection of Remote Meningioma.

Abstract: Diagnosis and treatment of neurosurgical pathology present unique challenges in underserved areas, and many conditions may go undiagnosed, misdiagnosed, or untreated for prolonged periods. The development of an unusual complication, seemingly unrelated to an area of neurosurgical intervention, may be particularly perplexing to non-neurosurgical providers, particularly in areas where neurosurgical procedures have not historically been available. A 44-year-old male presented with a giant meningioma which was successfully resected. A nasal encephalocele was noted preoperatively but was not addressed due to lack of associated symptoms and distance from the tumor. The patient lived on a remote island and was lost to follow-up. He developed delayed cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) rhinorrhea three months after surgery, which was diagnosed and treated by local providers as allergic rhinitis for 11 months until he presented with new-onset seizure. Imaging demonstrated descent of the lateral ventricle into the encephalocele. The encephalocele was amputated and the skull base defect was repaired successfully. The alteration of ventricular anatomy and CSF fluid dynamics following tumor resection appears to have created an environment where a non-traumatic CSF leak could develop where it had previously shown no signs of developing. It may be prudent to treat skull base defects prophylactically to prevent this type of complication, particularly in patients of remote regions where regular follow-up is difficult.

Influences of pressure on cooperative product development

Abstract: This paper looks at a decisive influencing factor in cooperative product development, ‘pressure’, which could be understood as all activities that are intended to make others change their behaviour against an original intention or original speed. Many activities and decisions in cooperative product development cannot be fully understood if pressure is not taken into consideration. The research described in this paper aims to explore some functions and consequences of pressure, since pressure is an eminent aspect of product development in industry and everybody has to deal with it and many sense it in a negative way; it is not clear what the optimal amount of pressure is. The main contribution of this paper is an analysis of the causes and effects of pressure in cooperative product development.
