TL;DR: Most staphylococci and Enterobacteriaceae that had been classified on the first test as having intermediate susceptibility or resistance to piperacillin/tazobactam by DIN criteria were re-evaluated to solve methodological problems and inconsistencies among the participating laboratories.
Abstract: In a multicentre study in Germany 10584 fresh clinical aerobic isolates were tested for susceptibility to piperacillin (30 micrograms or 100 micrograms discs) and piperacillin/tazobactam (30 micrograms/10 micrograms or 100 micrograms/10 micrograms discs). Preliminary breakpoints for piperacillin/tazobactam according to the German standard methods (Deutsches Institute fur Normung) were: Resistant: inhibition zone or = 64 mg/l. Susceptible: inhibition zone > or = 22 mm; MIC D or = 4 mg/l. For comparison, the National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards (USA) breakpoints for enterobacteria (100/10 micrograms/disc) are: Resistant: inhibition zone or = 128/4 mg/l. Susceptible: inhibition zone > or = 21 mm; MIC 14 mm and found that an additional 55.7% of resistant/intermediate Enterobacteriaceae and 91.0% of resistant/intermediate S aureus were susceptible to piperacillin/tazobactam, giving totals for susceptibility of 96.1% for Enterobacteriaceae and 98.1% for S aureus.

27 Sep 2021TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that both principal component analysis and dynamic PCA are a special case of the kappa-circulant maximum variance bases, and they formulate the constrained linear optimization problem of finding such kappa bases and present a closed-form solution that allows further interpretation and significant speedup for DPCA.
Abstract: Principal component analysis (PCA), a well-known technique in machine learning and statistics, is typically applied to time-independent data, as it is based on point-wise correlations. Dynamic PCA (DPCA) handles this issue by augmenting the data set with lagged versions of itself. In this paper, we show that both, PCA and DPCA, are a special case of \(\kappa \)-circulant maximum variance bases. We formulate the constrained linear optimization problem of finding such \(\kappa \)-circulant bases and present a closed-form solution that allows further interpretation and significant speed-up for DPCA. Furthermore, the relation of the proposed bases to the discrete Fourier transform, finite impulse response filters as well as spectral density estimation is pointed out.

25 Feb 1999TL;DR: In this paper, a cellular wheel sluice is fed into a dense-flow conveyor via a tubular store, and the material flow is reduced during filling of the store and increased after this process has ended.
Abstract: The material is fed by a cellular wheel sluice (2) into the dense-flow conveyor (11) via a tubular store (3). The material flow is reduced during filling of the store and increased after this process has ended. The store is pressure- charged, and the store volume is at a fixed ratio to the cycle of the closure valve (1). During the filling process, the store is ventilated via a ventilation line (17), which is closed together with the closure valve.

25 Oct 2003TL;DR: In this article, a pneumatic blow-off line is connected with a blowoff control element and an excessive flow and pressure maintenance control unit, which is used to control the blowoff line.
Abstract: The device has a central supply gas line into which several parallel, selectively operable pressure generators (3a-3c) open, from which parallel selectively operable transport lines (6a-6c) emanate, each of which contains a transport system (2a-2c) and to which is connected a blow-off line (7) with a blow-off control element and an excessive flow and pressure maintenance control unit (10). The excessive flow and pressure maintenance control unit is a pneumatic device.
