18 May 1995TL;DR: In this article, a pneumatic transport line is driven by a high pressure supply via a control valve and a regulating valve, which increases the gas flow while reducing the gas pressure to a suitable level for cleaning.
Abstract: The pneumatic transport line is driven by a high pressure supply (1) via a control valve (2) and a regulating valve (12). At the end of the transport cycle residual material is cleared out of the line by the same gas supply switched through a parallel venturi valve (7). This increases the gas flow while reducing the gas pressure to a suitable level for cleaning. The venturi valve is supplied with additional gas via an inlet valve (9) and a silencer (8). The gas can be either air or a suitable inert gas. The material to be transported is fed into the transport duct (3) by hoppers (4,13) and dosing valves (5,14). The cleaning gas slow can also be provided from a piped supply via suitable valves, including venturi valves.

20 Oct 1983TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed an apparatus for supporting the feed bars in a transfer press, with additional crossmembers (11) supporting feed bars (6) being arranged between in each case two lifting and closing boxes (7) and these crossmembers accompanying the lifting and lowering movement of the feed bar.
Abstract: In transfer presses, the workpieces to be processed are transported from one stage to the next by feed bars and transport systems, the feed bars of which extend over the entire length of the press. In order to avoid sagging and the generation of vibratory movements, especially in the case of very long feed bars (6), the invention proposes an apparatus for supporting the feed bars (6) in a transfer press, additional crossmembers (11) supporting the feed bars (6) being arranged between in each case two lifting and closing boxes (7) and these crossmembers accompany the lifting and lowering movement of the feed bars (6), the said apparatus being characterised in that the crossmember (11) is connected positively to the feed bar drives. As Fig. 1 shows, the construction of this apparatus can be so designed that vertically arranged racks (12) are used as the drive for the crossmembers (11), the said racks, for their part, being driven by horizontal common racks (14) extending longitudinally through the press from the drives for the lifting and closing boxes.

20 Jul 1984TL;DR: A die casting process for making castings by means of a horizontally oriented cold-chamber die casting machine comprises the steps of advancing a casting piston in the casting chamber from a starting position for ejecting the molten metal dosage from a casting chamber; and withdrawing the casting piston into the starting position.
Abstract: not available for EP0176605Abstract of corresponding document: US4660614A die casting process for making castings by means of a horizontally oriented cold-chamber die casting machine comprises the steps of advancing a casting piston in the casting chamber from a starting position for ejecting the molten metal dosage from the casting chamber; and withdrawing the casting piston into the starting position. The withdrawing step includes the step of passing over metal residues adhering to walls of the casting chamber. Subsequent to the withdrawing step and prior to the charging step of a successive cycle, the casting piston is advanced in the casting chamber void of molten metal dosage for ejecting the metal residues by the casting piston from the charging chamber and returning the casting piston into its starting position.
