TL;DR: In this article, the photocatalytic performance of Cv-gCN was evaluated on the basis of NO oxidization under visible light irradiation (λ < 400 nm) in a continual reactor, and the successful formation of carbon vacancy in gCN was confirmed through electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).

TL;DR: In this paper, a pulsed laser deposited (Bi1/2Na 1/2)0.9118La0.02Ba0.0582(Ti0.97Zr0.03)O3 (BNLBTZ) epitaxial lead-free relaxor thin films with the coexistence of ferroelectric and antiferroelectric (AFE) phases are presented.
Abstract: Ferroelectrics/antiferroelectrics with high dielectric breakdown strength have the potential to store a great amount of electrical energy, attractive for many modern applications in electronic devices and systems. Here, it is demonstrated that a giant electric energy density (154 J cm−3, three times the highest value of lead-based systems and five times the value of the best dielectric/ferroelectric polymer), together with the excellent fatigue-free property, good thermal stability, and high efficiency, is realized in pulsed laser deposited (Bi1/2Na1/2)0.9118La0.02Ba0.0582(Ti0.97Zr0.03)O3 (BNLBTZ) epitaxial lead-free relaxor thin films with the coexistence of ferroelectric (FE) and antiferroelectric (AFE) phases. This is endowed by high epitaxial quality, great relaxor dispersion, and the coexistence of the FE/AFE phases near the morphotropic phase boundary. The giant energy storage effect of the BNLBTZ lead-free relaxor thin films may make a great impact on the modern energy storage technology.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of positioning alkyl chains on DTBT on properties of polymers was investigated by investigating a small library of structurally related polymers with identical conjugated backbone.
Abstract: 4,7-Di(thiophen-2-yl)benzothiadiazole (DTBT) has been used to construct a number of donor−acceptor low band gap polymers for bulk heterojunction (BHJ) photovoltaics with high efficiency numbers. Its strong tendency to π-stack often leads to polymers with low molecular weight and poor solubility, which could potentially be alleviated by anchoring solubilizing chains onto the DTBT unit. A systematic study of the effect of positioning alkyl chains on DTBT on properties of polymers was implemented by investigating a small library of structurally related polymers with identical conjugated backbone. This series of donor−acceptor polymers employed a common donor unit, benzo[2,1-b:3,4-b′]dithiophene (BDT), and modified DTBT as the acceptor unit. Three variations of modified DTBT units were prepared with alkyl side chains at (a) the 5- and 6-positions of 2,1,3-benzothiadiazole (DTsolBT), (b) 3-positions of the flanking thienyl groups (3DTBT), and (c) 4-positions (4DTBT), in addition to the unmodified DTBT. TL;DR: By making use of the substrate character of GO, g-C3N4 nanosheets of unvaried intrinsic structure were exfoliated and anchored on the GO surface, resulting in a GO/g-C 3N4 hybrid, and the corresponding photocatalytic performance of the hybrid with optimized photocurrent character was largely improved.
Abstract: Graphitic C3N4 (g-C3N4), as an advanced metal free photocatalyst, is known to be poorly exfoliated and dispersed in water from its powder form which has a layered structure, the intrinsic plane structure is not destroyed, and this has largely limited its application. In this work, we report our progress on successful sonication exfoliation of g-C3N4 nanosheets in graphene oxide (GO) aqueous solution. By making use of the substrate character of GO, g-C3N4 nanosheets of unvaried intrinsic structure were exfoliated and anchored on the GO surface, resulting in a GO/g-C3N4 hybrid. Moreover, the photocurrent of the hybrid was largely reinforced at the optimal weight fraction of GO. As a result, the corresponding photocatalytic performance of the hybrid with optimized photocurrent character was largely improved.
