Biohydrogen production: prospects and limitations to practical application

TLDR
In this paper, the authors compare the hydrogen production rates of various bio-hydrogen systems by first standardizing the units of hydrogen production and then calculating the size of biohydrogen system that would be required to power proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells of various sizes.

HydDB: A web tool for hydrogenase classification and analysis

TL;DR: It is shown that hydrogenase function can be predicted by primary sequence alone using an expanded classification scheme and a web tool is built that rapidly and reliably classifies hydrogenase primary sequences using a combination of k-nearest neighbors' algorithms and CDD referencing.

Photobiological Methods of Renewable Hydrogen Production

TL;DR: Under certain conditions, algal and cyanobacterial microbes can use the energy from sunlight to produce H2 gas instead of fixing carbon, and thus are at least partially able to sustain growth and cellular repair function although at lower than normal levels for up to several days.

Biological hydrogen production from synthetic wastewater by an anaerobic migrating blanket reactor: Artificial neural network (ANN) modeling

TL;DR: In this article, an anaerobic migrating blanket reactor (AMBR) was used for biological hydrogen production and also to investigate its capability to treat synthetic wastewater, and it was revealed that as the OLR increased from 0.5 to 8 g COD/L.d.

Photocatalytic hydrogen production from alcohol aqueous solutions over TiO2-activated carbon composites decorated with Au and Pt

TL;DR: In this paper , a series of M-TiO 2 -activated carbon composites were prepared for hydrogen photogeneration in the gas phase using a mixture of alcohol-water (methanol, ethanol, and bioethanol).
