Biohydrogen production: prospects and limitations to practical application

TLDR
In this paper, the authors compare the hydrogen production rates of various bio-hydrogen systems by first standardizing the units of hydrogen production and then calculating the size of biohydrogen system that would be required to power proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells of various sizes.

Optimization of conditions for hydrogen production from brewery wastewater by anaerobic sludge using desirability function approach.

TL;DR: In this paper, a three-factor three-level experimental design of Box-Behnken method was adopted to find the optimum H 2 production conditions, where three major influence factors, temperature, pH and brewery wastewater concentration (BWC), were evaluated by applying response surface methodology (RSM) integrating a desirability function approach.

Influence of gaseous end-products inhibition and nutrient limitations on the growth and hydrogen production by hydrogen-producing fermentative bacterial B49

TL;DR: In this article, hydrogen-producing bacterial strain B49 (HPB B49, AF481148 in EMBL) was grown in a synthetic medium with glucose as substrate, enabling the precise quantification of each nutrient's contribution to growth.

Influence of pH on fermentative hydrogen production from sweet sorghum extract

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focused on the influence of pH on the fermentative hydrogen production from the sugars of sweet sorghum extract, in a continuous stirred tank bioreactor, operated at a Hydraulic Retention Time of 12 h and a pH range of 3.5-6.5.

Effects of pH value and substrate concentration on hydrogen production from the anaerobic fermentation of glucose

TL;DR: A series of batch experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of pH and glucose concentrations on biological hydrogen production by using the natural sludge obtained from the bed of a local river as inoculant as discussed by the authors.
