Cancer-related inflammation.

TLDR
The role of cancer-associated inflammation and the particular role of MIF in malignant disease is discussed and there is evidence that the cytokine is produced by both malignant cells and infiltrating leukocytes.

Triterpenoid constituents and Their Anti-cancer activity from stems and branches of Sambucus williamsii var. coreana Nakai (Caprifoliaceae)

TL;DR: In this paper, the anti-cancer active compounds separated from stems and branches of S. williamsii var. coreana Nakai (Caprifoliaceae) were identified using HPLC, NMR and LC-MS spectrometer.

Прогностическая значимость экспрессии генов монорезистентности в опухоли больных немелкоклеточным раком легкого

TL;DR: In this article, a prospective study included 35 patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who received 2-3 cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC), and a leukocyte formula was determined in the peripheral blood and inflammatory indices, such as neutrophils to lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelets to lymphocytes ratio (PLR), lymphocytes to monocytes ratio and systemic immuno-inflammatory index (SII).

Inflammatory and microenvironmental factors involved in breast cancer progression

TL;DR: The role of the inflamma- tory and microenvironment in breast cancer progression and metastasis is investigated in this article. But, the role of inflammatory markers in the development of an appropriate therapy for meta-static breast cancer is not investigated.

Cancer-related inflammation.

TL;DR: The molecular pathways of this cancer-related inflammation are now being unravelled, resulting in the identification of new target molecules that could lead to improved diagnosis and treatment.

Inflammation and cancer: back to Virchow?

TL;DR: A rationale for the use of cytokine and chemokine blockade, and further investigation of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, in the chemoprevention and treatment of malignant diseases is provided.

IKKbeta links inflammation and tumorigenesis in a mouse model of colitis-associated cancer.

TL;DR: It is shown that although deletion of IKKbeta in intestinal epithelial cells does not decrease inflammation, it leads to a dramatic decrease in tumor incidence without affecting tumor size, which is linked to increased epithelial apoptosis during tumor promotion.

NF-κB functions as a tumour promoter in inflammation-associated cancer

TL;DR: It is shown that the inflammatory process triggers hepatocyte NF-κB through upregulation of tumour-necrosis factor-α (TNFα) in adjacent endothelial and inflammatory cells, and is therefore a potential target for cancer prevention in chronic inflammatory diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Smoldering and polarized inflammation in the initiation and promotion of malignant disease

TL;DR: A number of clinical trials of TNF-α antagonists alone, and in combination with other therapies, are currently underway in cancer patients, and there are suggestions of activity against advanced disease in advanced ovarian and renal cell cancer.
