This book describes ggplot2, a new data visualization package for R that uses the insights from Leland Wilkisons Grammar of Graphics to create a powerful and flexible system for creating data graphics. With ggplot2, its easy to: produce handsome, publication-quality plots, with automatic legends created from the plot specification superpose multiple layers (points, lines, maps, tiles, box plots to name a few) from different data sources, with automatically adjusted common scales add customisable smoothers that use the powerful modelling capabilities of R, such as loess, linear models, generalised additive models and robust regression save any ggplot2 plot (or part thereof) for later modification or reuse create custom themes that capture in-house or journal style requirements, and that can easily be applied to multiple plots approach your graph from a visual perspective, thinking about how each component of the data is represented on the final plot. This book will be useful to everyone who has struggled with displaying their data in an informative and attractive way. You will need some basic knowledge of R (i.e. you should be able to get your data into R), but ggplot2 is a mini-language specifically tailored for producing graphics, and youll learn everything you need in the book. After reading this book youll be able to produce graphics customized precisely for your problems, and youll find it easy to get graphics out of your head and on to the screen or page.read more

Safety of reduced antibiotic prescribing for self limiting respiratory tract infections in primary care: cohort study using electronic health records.
Martin Gulliford,Michael Moore,Paul Little,Alastair D Hay,Robin Fox,A Toby Prevost,Dorota Juszczyk,Judith Charlton,Mark Ashworth +8 more
TL;DR: Even a substantial reduction in antibiotic prescribing was predicted to be associated with only a small increase in numbers of cases observed overall, but caution might be required in subgroups at higher risk of pneumonia.

TL;DR: It is shown that inhibition of STAT3 activity using the JAK inhibitor ruxolitinib decreases breast cancer invasion in vivo, highlighting the potential of IL6/STAT3-targeted therapies in ER+ breast cancer.

Learning the High-Dimensional Immunogenomic Features That Predict Public and Private Antibody Repertoires.
Victor Greiff,Cédric R. Weber,Johannes Palme,Johannes Palme,Ulrich Bodenhofer,Enkelejda Miho,Ulrike Menzel,Sai T. Reddy +7 more
TL;DR: The existence of high-dimensional immunogenomic rules that shape immune repertoire diversity in a predictable fashion is uncovered and may pave the way for the construction of a comprehensive atlas of public mouse and human immune repertoires with potential applications in rational vaccine design and immunotherapeutics.

TL;DR: Investigating the genomic variation of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in Taiwan revealed a new ORF8-deletion mutant and a virus clade that may be associated with infections in the Middle East, which contributed to a better understanding of the global SARS- covirus 2 transmission dynamics.

An Evidence Synthesis of Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care Products (PPCPs) in the Environment: Imbalances among Compounds, Sewage Treatment Techniques, and Ecosystem Types
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that non-prescription drugs and antibiotics dominated PPCP abstracts, appearing in 51% and 39% of reviewed abstracts respectively, in comparison to hormones, prescription drugs, fragrances, and antioxidants, which can all elicit physiological and ecological responses even at low concentrations.
