Hierarchies from fluxes in string compactifications
TLDR
In this article, the authors show that the hierarchy of scales can be fixed by a choice of Ramond-Ramond and Neveu-Schwarz fluxes in the compact manifold, and give examples involving orientifold compactifications of type IIB string theory and F-theory compactifications on Calabi-Yau fourfolds.Abstract:
Warped compactifications with significant warping provide one of the few known mechanisms for naturally generating large hierarchies of physical scales. We demonstrate that this mechanism is realizable in string theory, and give examples involving orientifold compactifications of type-IIB string theory and F-theory compactifications on Calabi-Yau fourfolds. In each case, the hierarchy of scales is fixed by a choice of Ramond-Ramond and Neveu-Schwarz fluxes in the compact manifold. Our solutions involve compactifications of the Klebanov-Strassler gravity dual to a confining $\mathcal{N}=1$ supersymmetric gauge theory, and the hierarchy reflects the small scale of chiral symmetry breaking in the dual gauge theory.read more

Quantum Log-Corrections to Swampland Conjectures
TL;DR: In this paper, the existence of logarithmic quantum corrections to AdS swampland conjectures was shown to arise from the trans-planckian censorship conjecture, and the authors pointed out that the proposed $\log$-corrections are in accord with the implications of the recently proposed trans-Planckian censored conjecture.

Scanning the landscape of flux compactifications: vacuum structure and soft supersymmetry breaking
TL;DR: In this paper, the landscape of flux compactifications for the Calabi-Yau manifold with two Kahler moduli was scanned by varying the value of the flux superpotential W0 over a large range of values.

On brane back-reaction and de Sitter solutions in higher-dimensional supergravity

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the curvature of the lower-dimensional geometry can be directly attributed to the back-reaction properties of various bulk fields near the sources, and that the contribution involving the asymptotic behaviour of the warp factor is precisely canceled by the contribution of the sources themselves.

Trapped quintessential inflation in the context of flux compactifications
TL;DR: In this article, a string modulus for the inflaton-quintessence field is presented, and the scalar potential of the model is based on generic nonperturbative potentials arising in flux compactifications.

The Large N limit of superconformal field theories and supergravity
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the large-N limits of certain conformal field theories in various dimensions include in their Hilbert space a sector describing supergravityon the product of anti-de Sitter spacetimes, spheres, and other compact manifolds.

Large Mass Hierarchy from a Small Extra Dimension
TL;DR: In this paper, the weak scale is generated from the Planck scale through an exponential hierarchy, but this exponential arises not from gauge interactions but from the background metric, which is a slice of spacetime.
