Hierarchies from fluxes in string compactifications
TLDR
In this article, the authors show that the hierarchy of scales can be fixed by a choice of Ramond-Ramond and Neveu-Schwarz fluxes in the compact manifold, and give examples involving orientifold compactifications of type IIB string theory and F-theory compactifications on Calabi-Yau fourfolds.Abstract:
Warped compactifications with significant warping provide one of the few known mechanisms for naturally generating large hierarchies of physical scales. We demonstrate that this mechanism is realizable in string theory, and give examples involving orientifold compactifications of type-IIB string theory and F-theory compactifications on Calabi-Yau fourfolds. In each case, the hierarchy of scales is fixed by a choice of Ramond-Ramond and Neveu-Schwarz fluxes in the compact manifold. Our solutions involve compactifications of the Klebanov-Strassler gravity dual to a confining $\mathcal{N}=1$ supersymmetric gauge theory, and the hierarchy reflects the small scale of chiral symmetry breaking in the dual gauge theory.read more

Moduli stabilization and cosmology of type IIB on SU(2)-structure orientifolds
TL;DR: In this article, the authors consider type IIB flux compactifications on six-dimensional SU(2)-structure manifolds with O5-and O7-planes and derive the four-dimensional $$ \mathcal {N} $$ウス = 1 scalar potential for such compactifications and present one explicit example of a fully stabilized AdS vacuum with large volume and small string coupling.

A)dS Backgrounds from Asymmetric Orientifolds
TL;DR: In this article, an asymmetric orientifold model with RR fluxes is proposed to fix all the NS NS moduli including the dilaton, which leads to a promising candidate for a metastable de Sitter background with string coupling of order 1/10 and dS radius of order 100 times the string scale.

Low energy supersymmetry from the landscape
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors argue that the landscape seems to favor low energy supersymmetry at a very low scale, quite possibly at a tree level and non-perturbative effects.

Chaotic inflation on the brane with induced gravity
TL;DR: In this article, the slow-roll inflationary dynamics in a self-gravitating induced gravity braneworld model with a bulk cosmological constant was studied and important corrections to the four-dimensional Friedmann equation were found.

Large Mass Hierarchy from a Small Extra Dimension
TL;DR: In this paper, the weak scale is generated from the Planck scale through an exponential hierarchy, but this exponential arises not from gauge interactions but from the background metric, which is a slice of spacetime.
