TLDR
In this paper , the anti-obesity effect of OPS was evaluated in obese mice induced by a high-fat diet (HFD), and the results showed that OPS significantly alleviated weight gain, dyslipidemia, and metabolic endotoxemia of obese mice, and accelerated the production of short-chain fatty acids.

Regulatory effects of marine polysaccharides on gut microbiota dysbiosis: A review

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors introduce the types of dysbiosis and the degree of it caused by different factors and highlight the regulating effects of marine polysaccharides on dysbiotic as a potential prebiotic.
Journal ArticleDOI

Renewable marine polysaccharides for microenvironment-responsive wound healing

TL;DR: Marine polysaccharides are an eco-friendly and renewable resource with a distinctive set of biological functions and are regarded as biological materials that can be in contact with tissues and body fluids for an extended time and promote tissue or organ regeneration as mentioned in this paper .
Journal ArticleDOI

Dietary Astragalus polysaccharides improve the growth and innate immune response of giant freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii: Insights from the brain-gut axis.

TL;DR: In this paper , the effects of different doses of APS on the growth, innate immune response, and brain-gut axis of Macrobrachium rosenbergii were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Resveratrol-loaded selenium/chitosan nano-flowers alleviate glucolipid metabolism disorder-associated cognitive impairment in Alzheimer's disease.

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper used nano-flowers to restore Gut microbiota homeostasis to reduce lipopolysaccharide (LPS) formation and LPS-induced neuroinflammation.

A rapid and sensitive method for the quantitation of microgram quantities of protein utilizing the principle of protein-dye binding

TL;DR: This assay is very reproducible and rapid with the dye binding process virtually complete in approximately 2 min with good color stability for 1 hr with little or no interference from cations such as sodium or potassium nor from carbohydrates such as sucrose.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dose translation from animal to human studies revisited

TL;DR: BSA correlates well across several mammalian species with several parameters of biology, including oxygen utilization, caloric expenditure, basal metabolism, blood volume, circulating plasma proteins, and renal function, and is advocated as a factor when converting a dose for translation from animals to humans.
Journal ArticleDOI

Metabolic endotoxemia initiates obesity and insulin resistance

TL;DR: It is concluded that the LPS/CD14 system sets the tone of insulin sensitivity and the onset of diabetes and obesity and lowering plasma LPS concentration could be a potent strategy for the control of metabolic diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Impact of diet in shaping gut microbiota revealed by a comparative study in children from Europe and rural Africa

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the fecal microbiota of European children (EU) and that of children from a rural African village of Burkina Faso (BF), where the diet, high in fiber content, is similar to that of early human settlements at the time of the birth of agriculture.
Journal ArticleDOI

Richness of human gut microbiome correlates with metabolic markers

TL;DR: The authors' classifications based on variation in the gut microbiome identify subsets of individuals in the general white adult population who may be at increased risk of progressing to adiposity-associated co-morbidities.
