Virtual Reference Feedback Tuning (VRFT) of velocity controller in self-balancing industrial manual manipulators
TL;DR: In this article, the authors applied Virtual Reference Feedback Tuning (VRFT) to the DC electric motor velocity controller in order to provide controller parameter tuning in a completely automatic way based on a single I/O batch measurement on the plant.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ensembles of change-point methods to estimate the change point in residual sequences
TL;DR: The ensemble of CPMs is introduced, which aggregates several estimates obtained from C PMs executed on different subsequences of residuals, obtained from random sampling, and improves the change-point estimates when the residuals are not i.i.d., as it is often the case in real-world scenarios.

Forecasting Short-term Solar Radiation for Photovoltaic Energy Predictions.
Alessandro Aliberti,Lorenzo Bottaccioli,Giansalvo Cirrincione,Enrico Macii,Andrea Acquaviva,Edoardo Patti +5 more
TL;DR: An innovative methodology for short-term forecasting of Global Horizontal Solar Irradiance (GHI) based on a Non-linear Autoregressive neural network is presented and experimental results for both GHI forecast and Photovoltaic energy prediction are presented and discussed.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Cloud Adaptation with Control Theory in Industrial Clouds
TL;DR: This work discusses a more sophisticated and robust method based on control theory for autoscaling cloud resource elasticity, and presents the design for a simple controller and how it can be applied on real cloud environments.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reconstruction of Precordial Lead Electrocardiogram From Limb Leads Using the State-Space Model
TL;DR: It was found that the reconstruction performance depended on the type of disease rather than lead type, and when ECG contaminated with the noise was used for reconstruction, the proposed method demonstrated better performance than linear regression model in general.

Linear predictors for nonlinear dynamical systems: Koopman operator meets model predictive control
Milan Korda,Igor Mezic +1 more
TL;DR: This work extends the Koopman operator to controlled dynamical systems and applies the Extended Dynamic Mode Decomposition (EDMD) to compute a finite-dimensional approximation of the operator in such a way that this approximation has the form of a linearcontrolled dynamical system.

A Tour of Reinforcement Learning: The View from Continuous Control
TL;DR: The authors surveys reinforcement learning from the perspective of optimization and control, with a focus on continuous control applications, and reviews the general formulation, terminology, and techniques for reinforcement learning for continuous control.

SPICE: A Sparse Covariance-Based Estimation Method for Array Processing
Petre Stoica,Prabhu Babu,Jian Li +2 more
TL;DR: This paper presents a novel SParse Iterative Covariance-based Estimation approach, abbreviated as SPICE, to array processing, obtained by the minimization of a covariance matrix fitting criterion and is particularly useful in many- snapshot cases but can be used even in single-snapshot situations.
