Global patient outcomes after elective surgery: Prospective cohort study in 27 low-, middle- and high-income countries

T. Ahmad, +2519 more
TL;DR: Despite lower baseline risk, outcomes were similar in low- and middle-income compared with high-income countries and should also address the need for safe perioperative care.

Left ventricular systolic and diastolic function in septic shock

TL;DR: The data suggest that cardiac dysfunction in septic shock shows a continuum from isolated diastolic dysfunction to both diastsolic and systolic ventricular failure, which strengthens the need of including the evaluation of pulmonary venous Doppler parameters in each investigation in order to obtain supplementary information to interpret diastolics function of the LV in septic shock patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
