Randomised trial of α-tocopherol and β-carotene supplements on incidence of major coronary events in men with previous myocardial infarction

TL;DR: The proportion of major coronary events in men with a previous myocardial infarction who smoke was not decreased with either α-tocopherol or β-carotene supplements, but the risk of fatal coronary heart disease increased in the groups that received either β- carotene or the combination of α-ocopherol and β-Carotene; there was a non-significant trend of increased deaths in the α-ococopherol group.

TL;DR: In an analysis of 31,717 cancer cases and 26,136 cancer-free controls from 13 genome-wide association studies, this paper observed large chromosomal abnormalities in a subset of clones in DNA obtained from blood or buccal samples.
