A Structure Learning Algorithm for Inference of Gene Networks from Microarray Gene Expression Data Using Bayesian Networks

TL;DR: Bayesian networks is used as a mathematical model for reverse-engineering gene networks from microarray data by extending K2 algorithm that is one of the standard learning algorithms in Bayesian networks to develop more efficient algorithms to learn Bayesian network structure based on observed data.
Journal ArticleDOI

A simple greedy algorithm for finding functional relations: efficient implementation and average case analysis

TL;DR: An efficient implementation of a simple greedy algorithm for inferring functional relations from relational databases is presented and it is shown that the algorithm can identify an exact solution for simple functions if input data for each function are generated uniformly at random and the size of the domain is bounded by a constant.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Intrasplicing--analysis of long intron sequences.

TL;DR: A new computational method for the analysis of DNA sequences with respect to splicing is developed and several results are derived indicating that intrasplicing may be an appropriate model for the splicing of at least part of the long intron sequences.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reduced expression of APC-1B but not APC-1A by the deletion of promoter 1B is responsible for familial adenomatous polyposis

TL;DR: The results strengthen the evidence that analysis of structural variations in promoter 1B should be considered for the FAP patients whose pathological mutations are not identified by conventional direct sequencing.
