14 Feb 1995TL;DR: In this article, a high-pressure and a method for high pressure treatment of substances was proposed. But the method was not suitable for the case of a fracture on a thin safety lintern.
Abstract: A high-pressure and a method for high-pressure treatment of substances. The high-pressure press comprises a high-pressure cylinder consisting of a number of concentrically arranged cylinder elements (1, 2, 3). The cylinder elements (1, 2, 3) are radially prestressed to a predetermined prestress and surround a high-pressure chamber (6) for accommodating a pressurized medium. A thin safety liner (3), which is intended to be placed in the high-pressure cylinder until a fracture arises on the safety liner (3), is arranged in the interior of the high-pressure cylinder. Further, means (14, 15) are provided to conduct at least part of the pressurized medium from the high-pressure chamber (6) when a fracture arises on the safety liner (3). The means (14, 15) comprise at least one channel (14) running essentially along the outer envelope surface of the safety liner (3). The method comprises using the high-pressure press without liner replacement until a fracture has occurred on the thin safety liner.

01 Oct 2006TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a summary of a methodology and tools employed in performing comprehensive voltage stability studies to identify reactive compensation requirements for a transmission system, focusing on both steady-state and time-domain dynamic simulation techniques.
Abstract: This paper presents a summary of a methodology and the tools employed in performing comprehensive voltage stability studies to identify reactive compensation requirements for a transmission system. The approach focuses on both steady-state and time-domain dynamic simulation techniques. The two key aspects of the study approach are the use of optimal power flow techniques for determining the best location for reactive compensation, and using extensive load sensitivity analysis in time domain to determine a prudent mix of dynamic VArs (e.g. SVCs) versus discrete switched devices (e.g. mechanically switched capacitor banks)

18 Apr 1991TL;DR: In this paper, the rotor body of an asynchronous machine is constructed from "thick" laminate discs and forms a self-supporting structural unit which is connected to the shaft, which is suitable for all operating stresses since no stress increases occur either on the shaft seating or in the rotor teeth.
Abstract: In a rotor of an asynchronous machine, the rotor body is constructed from "thick" laminate discs (1) and forms a self-supporting structural unit which is connected to the shaft (9). The individual laminates (1) are held together either by bolts, if necessary in combination with the laminate discs (1) being welded to one another, or only by welding to one another. A rotor of such construction is suitable for all operating stresses since no stress increases occur either on the shaft seating or in the region of the rotor teeth.

23 Dec 1991TL;DR: In this paper, a tangential inlet flow duct is used for mixing two gaseous components, particularly in the context of a burner, in which it is desired to mix the two components prior to combustion.
Abstract: A device for mixing two gaseous components, particularly in the context of a burner in which it is desired to mix the two gaseous components prior to combustion. The device includes a tangential inlet flow duct which opens into an inlet flow gap. A first gaseous component flows in through this inlet flow gap, and a second gaseous component flows through inlet flow nozzles provided in the region of the inlet flow gap. The arrangement achieves particularly intimate mixing, such that an improved burner is provided. Ramps are disposed in the region of the inlet flow duct, with the ramps including an end having a separation edge in the inlet flow gap. The inlet flow nozzles are arranged in the region around the separation edge such that mixing is promoted by longitudinal vortices occurring in the region.

26 Oct 1992TL;DR: In this article, a surge voltage arrester with two connecting fittings (1, 2) which are braced with respect to one another is described, and at least one pellet (7) consisting of varistor material is clamped in between them.
Abstract: This surge voltage arrester has two connecting fittings (1, 2) which are braced with respect to one another. At least one pellet (7) consisting of varistor material is clamped in between the connecting fittings (1, 2). It is intended to create a surge voltage arrester which can be produced using simple means and which, in addition, can be cast around in a simple manner. This is achieved in that at least two insulating clamping elements, which are arranged symmetrically, are provided for bracing the connecting fittings (1, 2). The clamping elements, the at least one pellet (7) and, partially, the connecting fittings (1, 2) have insulating plastic material cast around them to form a monolithic block.
