30 Jun 2010TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method for controlling power flow within a DC power flow in a power transmission network (1) comprising two or more interconnected converter stations (10 a, 10 b, 10 c, 10 d, 10 e ).
Abstract: The invention relates to a method (80) for controlling power flow within a DC power flow within a DC power transmission network (1) comprising two or more interconnected converter stations (10 a , 10 b , 10 c , 10 d , 10 e ). The method (80) comprises the steps of: establishing a common feedback signal (U d,common , Ũ d'common ) to the converter stations, the common feedback signal (U d,common , Ũ d',common ) being based on an overall voltage level in the DC transmission, power network (1); providing, in the converter stations, a control signal (S 1 , S 2 , S 3 , S 4 ) based on the common feedback signal (U d,common ) and a drooped error signal (P e, droop , U e, droop ); and controlling the power flow within the DC power transmission network (1) towards set operating points ( U d ref , PCC ref by using the control signal (S 1 , S 2 , S 3 , S 4 ). The invention also relates to a control device ( 18 a , 18 b , 18 c , 18 d , 18 e ) and computer program products.

28 Aug 2008TL;DR: In this article, a sensor is provided that measures web caliper using optical and magnetic measuring devices, and means of stabilizing a moving web are included for improving dynamic measurement accuracy.
Abstract: A sensor is provided that measures web caliper using optical and magnetic measuring devices. The optical measuring devices may employ a confocal chromatic aberration method to accurately determine the distance to the moving web and the magnetic devices may be ferrite core coil and target. Means of stabilizing a moving web are included for improving dynamic measurement accuracy.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used five-bus and 30-bus test cases to explore ISO net surplus collections and allocations in wholesale power markets with grid congestion managed by locational marginal prices (LMPs).
Abstract: This study uses five-bus and 30-bus test cases to explore ISO net surplus (congestion rent) collections and allocations in wholesale power markets with grid congestion managed by locational marginal prices (LMPs). Price-sensitivity of demand and generator learning capabilities are taken as experimental treatment factors. A key finding is that conditions resulting in greater generator capacity withholding, hence higher and more volatile LMPs, also result in greater ISO net surplus collections that can be substantial in size. A key conclusion is that ISO net surplus collections should be used pro-actively to mitigate the conditions encouraging generator capacity withholding and hence high and volatile LMPs rather than to provide ex post support for LMP payment offsets and LMP volatility risk hedging as is currently the norm.

29 Mar 1999TL;DR: In this paper, a method for self-adjusting color and cut register control in rotary printing machines having individual or a plurality of webs is specified, according to which the amount of relative web stretching of the individual web sections is calculated from the operating points of the drives driving the web and the correcting variables for color and register are derived from the production-dependent combination of all the stretching values.

21 Mar 1992TL;DR: In this article, an optoelectronic component has a housing (3) connected to a light guide (7, 8) for transmission of light to/from two optical semiconductor elements (1, 2) mounted in the housing.
Abstract: An optoelectronic component has a housing (3) connected to a light guide (7, 8) for transmission of light to/from two optoelectronic semiconductor elements (1, 2) mounted in the housing. Light to a first one of the semiconductor elements (2) is deflected towards this element by a partially transmitting mirror (5). For common adjustment during assembly, the semiconductor element (2) and the mirror (5) are spherically journalled in the housing. The second semiconductor element (1) is rotatably journalled in relation to the mirror (5) and the first semiconductor element (2) for adjustment during assembly.
