TL;DR: In this article, the potential of artificial ground water recharge (GWR) using excess rainfall is evaluated using multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) in association with the geospatial techniques.
Abstract: Rapid urbanization increases impervious surfaces, thus interrupting natural groundwater recharge, and finally poses serious threat to the city water demands due to groundwater level depletion. In this context, artificial ground water recharge (GWR) using excess rainfall is getting interest among the urban areas. This study selected Chittagong, the second largest and commercial capital city of Bangladesh, is facing issues with groundwater level lowering. Potentialities of GWR were assessed using multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) in association with the geospatial techniques. After evaluating primary and secondary datasets, eight thematic layers, i.e., urban storm water logging depth, drainage density, slope, rainfall/runoff, soil texture, existing groundwater level, lineament and land use/land cover, were used to locate the potential areas for GWR. Using reclassification techniques, the thematic layers were individually classified into five categories and assigned a specific normalized weighted value using analytical hierarchy process (AHP) in ArcGIS environment. Then, weighted linear combination method was employed to predict the potential GWR areas. The whole study area was then divided into five categories, viz. low, medium, medium–high, high and very high potential zone. Analysis showed that 5.5% of the total area is highly potential for GWR. In this analysis, expertise knowledge and practical experiences were used to analyze the data and map preparation. Therefore, along with the high-resolution ground data, findings of this paper envisaged to provide useful information to the decision support system.

TL;DR: In this paper, the anomalous behavior of urea and the comparison between thiourea in aqueous solutions have been examined by volumetric and ultrasonic sound velocity techniques at different temperature (298.15, 303.15 K), atmospheric pressure by using a high accuracy vibrating U-tube digital density analyzer.
Abstract: The observations on the anomalous behavior of urea and the comparison between urea and thiourea in aqueous solutions have been examined by volumetric and ultrasonic sound velocity techniques at different temperature (298.15, 303.15, 308.15, 313.15, 318.15 and 323.15 K), atmospheric pressure by using a high accuracy vibrating U-tube digital density and ultrasonic sound velocity analyzer. The apparent molar volume (φv) & apparent molar adiabatic compressibility (φk) have been calculated from experimental density and ultrasonic sound velocity data respectively and limiting apparent molar volume (φ0), limiting apparent molar adiabatic compressibility (φ k 0) have been evaluated from apparent molar volume vs. molality plot as intercept. Apparent molar expansibility (φE) was determined from apparent molar volume and hydration number (nH) from adiabatic compressibility. The results show very interesting information about strong solute-solvent & solute-solute interactions, and also elaborate the structure making or breaking behavior in the solution mixtures. keywords: Urea, Thiourea, Apparent molar volume, Expansibility, Sound velocity, Hydration number.

01 Feb 2017TL;DR: In this paper, in order to recognize the gesture in both training and translation mode a grid view algorithm has been used and it is revealed that the proposed system has about eighty percent success rate in translating gestures.
Abstract: Hand gesture is one of the most natural and expressive ways for the hearing impaired. However, because of the complexity of dynamic gestures either static gestures, postures, or a small set of dynamic gestures are focused by most researchers. In this paper, Kinect Motion Sensor Device is used to recognize the gesture of the user. But the gesture of each user of a particular word will be slightly different. As real-time recognition of a large set of dynamic gestures is considered, some efficient algorithms and models are needed. Here an efficient algorithm is used to recognize the gesture and translate them. In this paper, in order to recognize the gesture in both training and translation mode a grid view algorithm has been used. We evaluated our system by translating gesture by various people for twelve different words and experimental results reveals that our proposed system has about eighty percent success rate in translating gestures.

TL;DR: In this paper, a Voice Activated Braille as a portable device that will help individuals who are blind or visually impaired without any partial help to recognize certain written characters is presented.
Abstract: The goal of this paper is to create a Voice Activated Braille as a portable device that will help individuals who are blind or visually impaired without any partial help to recognize certain written characters. This is a system controlled by Arduino that will be able to direct blind people. The system acts mostly as a guide for the blind, a particular virtual environment for the visually disadvantaged, making them similarly optimistic to the rest of the world's regular citizens. Blind people will benefit from these innovative braille methods to tackle the challenge of information technology around the world. This system is compact and will keep blind people from partial assistance and can also help them read something without any help. Thus, the daily inconvenience of blind individuals can be significantly decreased and they can enjoy a certain level of freedom and activity.
