TL;DR: Small-scale dairy systems with continuous grazing of pastures based on three temperate grasses festulolium, tall fescue, and perennial ryegrass compared with subtropical kikuyu grass are evaluated, finding indicators of milk with beneficial effects for human health.
Abstract: The study evaluated small-scale dairy systems with continuous grazing of pastures based on three temperate grasses festulolium (FL), tall fescue (TF), and perennial ryegrass (RG), compared with subtropical kikuyu grass (KG). All pastures were associated with white clover (Trifolium repens L.). Twelve multiparous Holstein cows were assigned to a 4 × 4 Latin square replicated three times with 14-day experimental periods. Sampling and analyses of pastures, concentrates, and animal variables followed standard procedures. FL showed a significantly (p 0.05) in net herbage accumulation. There were significant differences (p 0.05) between treatments for milk yield and composition, live weight, or body condition score. There were significant differences (p < 0.05) in fatty acid values for pastures in C14:0, C16:1, and C18:3n3. There were significant differences between treatments (p < 0.05) in milk contents for C18:0, C18:1t11, and C18:2c9t11. Grazing FL, TF, RG, or KY pastures showed no differences in milk yields. Higher values for C18:0, C18:1t11, and C18:2c9t11 were detected in KY, RG, and TF. RG had significantly higher MUFA than FL and higher PUFA than TF. A value under 65% of SFA, a ratio of n-6/n-3 lower than 4, and an atherogenic index of 1.7 are indicators of milk with beneficial effects for human health.

TL;DR: This book covers the most talked about problems currently available and presents a new approach that allows the reader to work by designing C++ programs directly using Windows interface in one book.
Abstract: Providing a bridge between a problem and its solution through visualization, this book covers the most talked about problems currently available. Presenting a new approach that allows the reader to work by designing C++ programs directly using Windows interface in one book, the text provides ready to run codes. An equation parser in the form of an object file can be linked directly to the codes to provide accuracy and utility to the presentation. These are provided through an FTP location.

TL;DR: The main aims of the present study were to determine the prevalence and intensity of infection by G. duodenalis in adult sheep, and to establish the genotypes of the parasite involved in the infections.
Abstract: GIARDIA duodenalis (synonym G. lamblia, G. intestinalis) infects several mammalian species, including man (Adam 2001). Although specimens of G. duodenalis isolated from humans and other animals are morphologically similar, infections are caused by different genotypes of the parasite. The most commonly detected genotypes are: A-I (infects humans, domestic ruminants, dogs, cats, beavers, rats, and other animals); A-II (spread by anthroponotic transmission); B (infects humans, beavers, dogs, rats and other animals); C and D (infects canine species); E, F, and G (infects domestic ruminants, cats, and rats) (Fayer et al. 2004). Parasite infection is often asymptomatic but clinical cases have been described in domestic ruminants (Olson et al. 1995; Thompson 2000). The presence of Giardia spp. cysts in sources of drinking water is a serious public health problem as these parasitic forms easily survive standard purification processes (Fayer 2004; Slifko, Smith, and Rose 2000). Information is scarce regarding Giardia epidemiology that include the extent of infection and genotypes involved (Castro-Hermida et al. 2005; Castro-Hermida, de Giacomo, and Pozio 2006). The main aims of the present study were to determine the prevalence and intensity of infection by G. duodenalis in adult sheep, and to establish the genotypes of the parasite involved in the infections.
