TL;DR: An interpolation formula based on Fourier method for the numerical solution of a Fredholm integral equation related to conformal mapping of a simply connected region onto a unit disc is presented in this article.
Abstract: An interpolation formula based on Fourier method for the numerical solution of a Fredholm integral equation related to conformal mapping of a simply connected region onto a unit disc is presented. The integral equation involves the Neumann kernel. The numerical results obtained from the interpolation formula based on Fourier method are then compared with the numerical results obtained from the interpolation formula based on Nystrom’s method. Numerical comparison shows that the interpolation formula based on Nystrom’s method gives better performance. Numerical implementations on some test regions are presented.

01 Jan 2015TL;DR: In this article, an approach for evaluating critical parameters (stress, strain, temperature, and operation duration) for lateral buckling of rod elements with a straight and curvilinear axis under elastoplastic deformation and creep is presented.
Abstract: Non-isothermal loss of stability of machine and structure elements under uniform or varying external loads and temperatures is considered. Stability at elevated temperatures may depend on a certain critical temperature value along with critical values of stress and strain. Peculiarities of structure buckling under temperature stresses in case of constrained deformation are demonstrated. Approaches for evaluating critical parameters (stress, strain, temperature, and operation duration) are presented for lateral buckling of rod elements with a straight and curvilinear axis under elastoplastic deformation and creep. The loss of a cylindrical equilibrium form of a stretched rod due to increase of creep rate evolution is discussed. Loss of stability, caused by non-uniform heating of the bodies of various shapes, is analyzed. Nonlinear calculation of transition to a new equilibrium state caused by a temperature variation is studied in detail using von Mises modified truss.

01 Jun 2019TL;DR: In this article, the effect of homogeneous flame fronts on NOx emission in partially mixed combustion in combustion chambers was investigated. And the authors proposed a methodology for estimating the impact of the homogeneous front on the NOx emissions.
Abstract: Specifics of nitrogen oxides formation in conditions of partially mixed combustion in combustion chambers in the presence of diffusion and homogeneous flame fronts are studied. A NOx emission calculation procedure based on detailed kinetics, including all NOx formation mechanisms, is proposed. NOx emission values calculated using the complete detailed kinetics and kinetics containing only the Zel'dovich mechanism are compared. A methodology for estimating the effect of homogeneous flame fronts on NOx emission is proposed and verified. Under conditions of the model problem, a contribution of homogeneous flame fronts to total NOx emission is studied. Combustion conditions with a considerable contribution of homogeneous fronts to total NOx emission are shown.

TL;DR: In this paper, a mathematical model of aqueous humour flow through the DMD has been developed to analyze the fluid mechanics concerning the progression of DMD, which is based on the Naiver-Stokes equations that govern the flow of AH in the anterior chamber.
Abstract: Descemet membrane detachment (DMD) develops in the human eye once the aqueous humour (AH) enters the Descemet membrane (DM) space through a break and causes the membrane to separate from the stroma (the main layer of the cornea which is responsible in giving the cornea its strength) A mathematical model of AH flow through the DMD has been developed The mathematical model is set up to analyze the fluid mechanics concerning the progression of DMD This model is based on the Naiver-Stokes equations that govern the flow of AH in the anterior chamber (AC) Specifically, fluid flow in the AC is described as a flow driven by buoyancy effects due to the existing temperature different between the cornea and the pupil A thin flap (DMD) which is kept in contact with a dome shape (cornea) is considered in the flow in order to show how the type of the DMD affect the fluid flow behave in the AC The relevant fluid flow equations have been solved numerically using finite element method with the aiding of COMSOL Multi
