Separation of Cultivars of Soybeans by Chemometric Methods Using Near Infrared Spectroscopy.

TL;DR: In this paper, a near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy technique combined with chemometrics methods were used to group and identify samples of different soybean cultivars, and the best results were obtained considering the spectral range from 1900.6 to 2187.7 nm (5261.4 cm-1 to 4570.9 cm1) and with spectral treatment using multiplicative signal correction (MSC) + baseline correct (linear fit).
Journal ArticleDOI

Raman spectroscopy of Bisphenol ‘S’ and its analogy with Bisphenol ‘A’ uncovered with a dimensionality reduction technique

TL;DR: In this article, Bisphenol "S" (BPS) is investigated by Raman spectroscopy (150 to 3600 cm−1). Observed scattering peaks are assigned by density functional theory (DFT).
Journal ArticleDOI

Additive Partial Least Squares for efficient modelling of independent variance sources demonstrated on practical case studies.

TL;DR: The main advantages of the method are that the original model stays unadjusted and that the modelling is conducted on concrete changes in the spectra thus supporting efficient (in most cases straightforward) modelling and the method is put into context of existing machine learning algorithms.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multispectral UV Imaging for Determination of the Tablet Coating Thickness.

TL;DR: UV imaging appears to hold a significant potential as a process analytical technology tool for determination of the tablet coating thickness and its distribution resulting from its high measurement speed, high molar absorptivity, and a high scattering coefficient, in addition to relatively low costs.

Neural Networks: A Comprehensive Foundation

Simon Haykin
TL;DR: Thorough, well-organized, and completely up to date, this book examines all the important aspects of this emerging technology, including the learning process, back-propagation learning, radial-basis function networks, self-organizing systems, modular networks, temporal processing and neurodynamics, and VLSI implementation of neural networks.

Classification and regression trees

Leo Breiman
TL;DR: The methodology used to construct tree structured rules is the focus of a monograph as mentioned in this paper, covering the use of trees as a data analysis method, and in a more mathematical framework, proving some of their fundamental properties.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nearest neighbor pattern classification

TL;DR: The nearest neighbor decision rule assigns to an unclassified sample point the classification of the nearest of a set of previously classified points, so it may be said that half the classification information in an infinite sample set is contained in the nearest neighbor.
