Differentiating Puerariae Lobatae Radix and Puerariae Thomsonii Radix using HPTLC coupled with multivariate classification analyses

TL;DR: High performance thin-layer chromatography combined with multivariate analysis is a promising technique for the quality control and differentiation of PLR and PTR.
Journal ArticleDOI

Standard-free calibration transfer - An evaluation of different techniques☆

TL;DR: This contribution introduces, discusses and evaluates a wide-ranging subset of transfer approaches available in chemometrics and the field of machine learning, where they focus on techniques applicable in situations where transfer standards cannot be provided and only few reference measurements are available for the new setting.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new PAT/QbD approach for the determination of blend homogeneity: Combination of on-line NIRS analysis with PC Scores Distance Analysis (PC-SDA)

TL;DR: The new approach comprises calculation of Euclidean distances between PCA scores in a multidimensional space and determination of Moving Block Standard Deviations of successive Principal Component scores distances to estimate a time-window during blending where spectral variability decreases to a preset minimum.

Rapid, noninvasive detection of Zika virus in Aedes aegypti mosquitoes by near-infrared spectroscopy.

TL;DR: It is shown for the first time that NIRS is a rapid, reagent-free, and cost-effective tool that can be used to noninvasively detect ZIKV in heads and thoraces of intact Aedes aegypti mosquitoes with prediction accuracies of 94.2 to 99.3% relative to quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR).

Neural Networks: A Comprehensive Foundation

Simon Haykin
TL;DR: Thorough, well-organized, and completely up to date, this book examines all the important aspects of this emerging technology, including the learning process, back-propagation learning, radial-basis function networks, self-organizing systems, modular networks, temporal processing and neurodynamics, and VLSI implementation of neural networks.

Classification and regression trees

Leo Breiman
TL;DR: The methodology used to construct tree structured rules is the focus of a monograph as mentioned in this paper, covering the use of trees as a data analysis method, and in a more mathematical framework, proving some of their fundamental properties.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nearest neighbor pattern classification

TL;DR: The nearest neighbor decision rule assigns to an unclassified sample point the classification of the nearest of a set of previously classified points, so it may be said that half the classification information in an infinite sample set is contained in the nearest neighbor.
