NIR Spectroscopy Applications in the Development of a Compacted Multiparticulate System for Modified Release

TL;DR: Near-infrared spectroscopy and chemical imaging was utilized to characterize extrusion-spheronized drug beads, lipid-based placebo beads, and modified release tablets prepared from blends of these beads to detect blend segregation during tableting.
Journal ArticleDOI

Applications of various analytical techniques in quality control of pharmaceutical excipients.

TL;DR: In the present review authors have summarized the reported applications of various analytical techniques being used in excipients analysis, which include capillary electrophoresis, static headspace capillary gas chromatography, gel permeation chromatography/size exclusion Chromatography, LC‐IR hyphenated technique and Near IR etc.
Journal ArticleDOI

Detection of Cracks on Tomatoes Using a Hyperspectral Near-Infrared Reflectance Imaging System

TL;DR: The data suggest that the hyperspectral near-infrared reflectance imaging system, in addition to traditional NIR spectroscopy-based methods, could potentially be used to detect crack defects on tomatoes and perform quality assessments.
Journal ArticleDOI

Near infrared spectroscopic (NIRS) analysis of drug-loading rate and particle size of risperidone microspheres by improved chemometric model.

TL;DR: The data demonstrated that PLS-developed model was only suitable for drug loading analysis in risperidone PLGA microspheres, and Comparatively, RBFNN-based predictive models possess better fitting quality, predictive effect, and stability for both drug loading rate and particle size analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

An ensemble method based on a self-organizing map for near-infrared spectral calibration of complex beverage samples.

TL;DR: It was found that when there is a training set of appropriate size, SOMEPLS can achieve better prediction accuracy than the three reference algorithms, but without increasing the complexity of the corresponding calibration model for the future application, indicating that SOMEPLs can serve as a promising tool for NIR spectral calibration.

Classification and regression trees

Leo Breiman
TL;DR: The methodology used to construct tree structured rules is the focus of a monograph as mentioned in this paper, covering the use of trees as a data analysis method, and in a more mathematical framework, proving some of their fundamental properties.

Nearest neighbor pattern classification

TL;DR: The nearest neighbor decision rule assigns to an unclassified sample point the classification of the nearest of a set of previously classified points, so it may be said that half the classification information in an infinite sample set is contained in the nearest neighbor.
