Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of boceprevir resistance associated amino acid variants (RAVs) in two phase 3 boceprevir clinical studies.
Richard J. O. Barnard,John A. Howe,Robert A. Ogert,Stefan Zeuzem,Fred Poordad,Stuart C Gordon,Robert Ralston,Xiao Tong,Vilma Sniukiene,Julie Strizki,Desmond Ryan,Jianmin Long,Ping Qiu,Clifford A. Brass,Janice K. Albrecht,Margaret Burroughs,Scott Vuocolo,Daria J. Hazuda +17 more
TL;DR: No association between the presence of baseline amino acid variants at boceprevir resistance-associated loci and outcome in the context of good IFN response is detected, and poor interferon responsiveness was highly predictive of non-SVR.
Journal ArticleDOI
Risk, predictors, and mortality associated with non-AIDS events in newly diagnosed HIV-infected patients: role of antiretroviral therapy
Mar Masiá,Sergio Padilla,Débora Álvarez,Juan Carlos López,Ignacio Santos,Vicente Soriano,José Hernández-Quero,Jesús Santos,Cristina Tural,Julia del Amo,Félix Gutiérrez +10 more
TL;DR: A protective effect of antiretroviral therapy in the occurrence of non-AIDS events (NAEs) occurring in newly diagnosed HIV-infected patients in a contemporary cohort is suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI
Image-guided ablation of primary liver and renal tumours
David J. Breen,Riccardo Lencioni +1 more
TL;DR: Despite the absence of any randomized trial comparing the outcomes of IGA with those of standard partial nephrectomy, a growing amount of data demonstrate robust oncological outcomes for this minimally invasive approach and testify to its potential as a standard-of-care treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: Affordable new HCV treatment regimens are available in Iran, providing an opportunity for HCV elimination and recommendations provided in this current national guideline can facilitate evidence-based management of HCV infection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Safety and Effectiveness of Direct-Acting Antiviral Agents for Treatment of Patients With Chronic Hepatitis C Virus Infection and Cirrhosis.
Raoel Maan,Raoel Maan,Marjolein van Tilborg,Katja Deterding,Alnoor Ramji,Adriaan J. van der Meer,Florence Wong,Scott Fung,Morris Sherman,Michael P. Manns,Markus Cornberg,Bettina E. Hansen,Heiner Wedemeyer,Harry L.A. Janssen,Harry L.A. Janssen,Robert J. de Knegt,Jordan J. Feld +16 more
TL;DR: For patients with decompensated (CP score of B/C) cirrhosis, albumin level less than 35 g/L, MELD score of 14 or greater, and HCV genotype 3 are important risk factors for hepatic decompensation during DAA-based treatment.

Aging of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV)-Infected Persons in the United States: A Multiple Cohort Model of HCV Prevalence and Disease Progression
TL;DR: Prevalence of hepatitis C cirrhosis and its complications will continue to increase through the next decade and will mostly affect those older than 60 years of age, but wider application of antiviral treatment and better responses with new agents could significantly reduce the impact of this disease in coming years.
