Observational Constraints on Quark Matter in Neutron Stars

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors study the observational constraints of mass and redshift on the properties of the equation of state (EOS) for quark matter in compact stars based on the quasi-particle description.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetised Neutron Star Crusts and Torsional Shear Modes of Magnetars

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of Landau quantization of electrons on the ground state properties of matter in outer and inner crusts in magnetars was investigated and it was shown that this effect leads to an enhancement of the electron number density in strong magnetic fields with respect to the zero field case.
Journal ArticleDOI

Neutron-neutron short-range correlations and their impacts on neutron stars

TL;DR: In this article , density-dependent nucleon momentum distributions with the isospinasymmetry scaling parameter were proposed to analyze the impacts of nn pairs on the physical properties of neutron stars.
Journal ArticleDOI

Polarization effects in the equation of state for neutron star matter

TL;DR: In this article, a new method was given for calculating the equation of state for dense neutron matter taking into consideration the polarization of the medium around a quasiparticle within Landau's theory of normal Fermi liquids.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors investigated the impact of the neutron-star matter equation of state on the frequency of oscillations of neutron stars obtained within the Cowling approximation and linearized general relativity, and found strong correlations between the frequencies of $f$- and $p_1$-modes and their damping times with the pressure of β$-equilibrated matter at densities equal to or slightly higher than the nuclear saturation density.
