Abstract
This report describes an enhanced test system (RTS-96) for use in bulk power system reliability evaluation studies. The value of the test system is that it will permit comparative and benchmark studies to be performed on new and existing reliability evaluation techniques. The test system was developed by modifying and updating the original IEEE RTS (referred to as RTS-79 hereafter) to reflect changes in evaluation methodologies and to overcome perceived deficiencies.

Sensitivity-based security-constrained OPF market clearing model

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a novel technique for representing system security constraints that properly include voltage stability limits in the operation of competitive electricity markets, where the market clearing algorithm is modeled as a voltage stability constrained optimal power flow (OPF) problem, while the distance to the closest critical power flow solution is represented by means of a loading parameter and evaluated using a continuation power flow technique.

Safeguarding SCADA Systems with Anomaly Detection

TL;DR: The performance of invariant induction and n- gram anomaly-detectors will be compared and plans for taking this work further by integrating the output from several anomaly- detecting techniques using Bayesian networks are outlined.

Robust Optimization of Storage Investment on Transmission Networks

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a robust optimization tool for storage investment on transmission networks, which employs robust optimization to minimize the investment in storage units, without load or renewable power curtailment, for all scenarios in the convex hull of a discrete uncertainty set.

Probabilistic reactive power procurement in hybrid electricity markets with uncertain loads

TL;DR: A novel probabilistic algorithm for optimal reactive power provision in hybrid electricity markets is presented, a six-stage multiobjective nonlinear constrained optimization problem which takes into account load forecasting inaccuracies.

Unit Commitment Risk Analysis of Wind Integrated Power Systems

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present an approach to evaluate the contribution that wind power can make to the load carrying capability of a power generating system in an operating scenario by developing short-term probability distributions of the wind speed and wind power output using ARMA time series models.

Effect of Station Originated Outages in a Composite System Adequacy Evaluation of the IEEE Reliability Test System

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of terminal stations in composite system reliability evaluation by using the IEEE Reliability Test System (RTS) are discussed. But the authors do not consider the impact of station originated outages on the composite system adequacy indices.
