Abstract
This report describes an enhanced test system (RTS-96) for use in bulk power system reliability evaluation studies. The value of the test system is that it will permit comparative and benchmark studies to be performed on new and existing reliability evaluation techniques. The test system was developed by modifying and updating the original IEEE RTS (referred to as RTS-79 hereafter) to reflect changes in evaluation methodologies and to overcome perceived deficiencies.

A linearized formulation of AC multi-year transmission expansion planning: A mixed-integer linear programming approach

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a method in expansion planning of transmission systems using the AC optimal power flow (AC-OPF), which provides a more accurate picture of power flow in the network compared to the DC optimal power flows (DC-OPFs) that is usually considered in the literature for transmission expansion planning.

Integration of emerging resources in IGDT-based robust scheduling of combined power and natural gas systems considering flexible ramping products

TL;DR: An IGDT-based robust security constrained unit commitment (SCUC) model for coordinated electricity and natural gas systems with the integration of wind power and emerging flexible resources while taking the flexible ramping products into account is proposed.

Robust coordination of interdependent electricity and natural gas systems in day-ahead scheduling for facilitating volatile renewable generations via power-to-gas technology

TL;DR: In this paper, a robust day-ahead scheduling model for the optimal coordinated operation of integrated energy systems while considering key uncertainties of the power system and natural gas system operation cost is proposed.

Accounting for flexibility in power system planning with renewables

TL;DR: In this article, a new system planning model on a power plant resolution, taking into account technical operational constraints, is introduced, and two initial solutions are obtained; one from a classical screening curve model, and another from a model using mixed integer linear programming (MILP).
