Abstract
This report describes an enhanced test system (RTS-96) for use in bulk power system reliability evaluation studies. The value of the test system is that it will permit comparative and benchmark studies to be performed on new and existing reliability evaluation techniques. The test system was developed by modifying and updating the original IEEE RTS (referred to as RTS-79 hereafter) to reflect changes in evaluation methodologies and to overcome perceived deficiencies.

Security Constrained Unit Commitment with Corrective Transmission Switching

TL;DR: An N-1 SCUC mathematical model implementing a dynamic network in the post-contingency scenario is proposed as opposed to current industry practices of static network in short-term operations and results in cost-effective implementation and leads to overall reduced cost, and congestion reduction in thePost-contedency scenario.

Optimal reserve capacity allocation with consideration of customer reliability requirements

TL;DR: In this paper, an algorithm for determining optimal reserve capacity in a power market is presented in which the optimization process in the proposed algorithm is based on the cost-benefit trade off, and market clearance is executed with consideration of uncertainties of power system components in an aggregated environment.

Wasserstein distributionally robust chance-constrained optimization for energy and reserve dispatch: An exact and physically-bounded formulation

TL;DR: In this paper , a distributionally robust chance-constrained optimization with a Wasserstein ambiguity set for energy and reserve dispatch is proposed to provide performance guarantees when the distribution of uncertain parameters is not perfectly known.

A fault diagnosis system for interdependent critical infrastructures based on HMMs

TL;DR: A probabilistic modeling scheme for analyzing malicious events appearing in interdependent critical infrastructures is proposed based on modeling the relationship between datastreams coming from two network nodes by means of a hidden Markov model (HMM) trained on the parameters of linear time-invariant dynamic systems.

Well-Being Analysis of Wind Integrated Power Systems

TL;DR: In this paper, an approach for calculating well-being indices for wind integrated electric power generating systems is presented, where the link between the unit commitment risk criterion (UCRC) and system healthy state probability (HSPC) is illustrated using two different test systems.

Effect of Station Originated Outages in a Composite System Adequacy Evaluation of the IEEE Reliability Test System

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of terminal stations in composite system reliability evaluation by using the IEEE Reliability Test System (RTS) are discussed. But the authors do not consider the impact of station originated outages on the composite system adequacy indices.

A comprehensive approach for adequacy and security evaluation of bulk power systems

TL;DR: In this paper, a new approach is described for assessing the adequacy and security of bulk power systems, which takes into account generation and transmission failures, load variation, generation economic dispatch, security limits, maintenance schedules, the control actions implemented in emergencies.

Incorporation of a DC-link in a composite system adequacy assessment-composite system analysis

TL;DR: In this paper, the IEEE Reliability Test System (RTS) is augmented by adding a direct current (DC) link and is used as the test system for adequacy evaluation of a composite generation and transmission system.
