Abstract
This report describes an enhanced test system (RTS-96) for use in bulk power system reliability evaluation studies. The value of the test system is that it will permit comparative and benchmark studies to be performed on new and existing reliability evaluation techniques. The test system was developed by modifying and updating the original IEEE RTS (referred to as RTS-79 hereafter) to reflect changes in evaluation methodologies and to overcome perceived deficiencies.

The benefits of nuclear flexibility in power system operations with renewable energy

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a mixed integer linear programming formulation to more accurately represent the distinct technical operating constraints of nuclear power stations, including impacts of xenon transients in the reactor core and changing core reactivity over the fuel irradiation cycle.

Modeling and control of co-generation power plants: a hybrid system approach

TL;DR: The short-term scheduling optimization of a combined cycle power plant is accomplished by exploiting hybrid systems, i.e., systems evolving according to continuous dynamics, discrete dynamics, and logic rules, using the framework of mixed logic dynamical (MLD) systems.

Decentralized Multiarea Robust Generation Unit and Tie-Line Scheduling Under Wind Power Uncertainty

TL;DR: In this article, the adaptive robust optimization (RO) scheme is used to solve the multi-area power scheduling problem in a decentralized way, and the model is decomposed into regional subproblems by augmented Lagrangian decomposition, which enables a fully distributed computation within an alternating direction multiplier method framework.

Decentralized Multi-Area Dynamic Economic Dispatch Using Modified Generalized Benders Decomposition

TL;DR: In this article, a decentralized approach based on a modified generalized Benders decomposition in which locally optimal cost function of each area is introduced is introduced. But it is suitable for multi-area interconnected systems with a hierarchical control architecture.
